West Indies vs England – 3rd T20 Betting Preview

England conclude their tour of the Caribbean with a final T20 against West Indies in St Kitts on Sunday and they will be looking to depart what has been a tricky run with one last win in what is actually a dead rubber after they secured the series on Friday.

West Indies have one last chance to show their worth against England before embarking on the remainder of their cricket up until the 50 over World Cup but they will need to show a huge improvement on the first two games to get a consolation victory.

West Indies

The men from the Caribbean have looked like a side who have been happy with their exploits in the Test matches and the ODIs in this series so far. They have not been competitive in these games at all and while this format is probably the least important of the three for them thus far, they still have a daunting record in this particular part of the game so they will be expected to deliver much more here.

West Indies have bowled poorly for the most part in this series and even when they had England in plenty of trouble in the second match, they were unable to maintain the pressure and stop England getting away from them. The least said about their batting display in that second match the better as nobody was at the races at all for them in that discipline.

England

It has been a tough tour for England and at times not their best cricket but they are finishing it strongly and a final win with which to board the plane would represent a solid conclusion to it. This is the final match that the popular Paul Farbrace will be involved in the side for, so I would expect Eoin Morgan’s men to look to go out in style for him.

The really positive thing for England in these matches has been that they have had to perform under pressure. In the first match they had a tricky run chase to navigate and in the second they had to recover from the loss of a bunch of early wickets. On both occasions they have successfully done what was required of them to get the match won.

Team News

There is talk of Chris Gayle being rested for this final match which given how gingerly he has moved throughout the limited overs matches probably makes sense. It will be interesting to see if Obed McCoy gets another outing.

Dawid Malan is looking to force his way into the side and it could be that Joe Denly’s place is up for grabs, although England have made enough changes for this series as it is so they could choose to pick an unchanged side.

Betting

I’m not a massive fan of betting on the result of a dead rubber but England have been so dominant in the two matches so far that the 5/6 on them to complete the whitewash is just too big to ignore. West Indies look like a side who have run their race at the minute and with a lack of motivation on this match I’m not expecting big things from them.

We have already seen England win one dead rubber on this tour when they thrashed West Indies in the third of the Test matches and given that there is so much more to come from their top order, and plenty of bowlers looking to fire themselves into World Cup contention, I don’t expect the tourists to take the foot off the gas here. I’ll take England to end off in style.
