West Indies vs Pakistan – 3rd ODI Betting Preview

After one fantastic run chase and one totally abject performance the West Indies have one last shot at a mini piece of history on Tuesday when they take on Pakistan in the third and deciding ODI in Guyana.

Pakistan destroyed the West Indies in the second match on Sunday to level the series at 1-1 and they will now be expected to go on and win the series in this deciding game.

West Indies

It looked like the West Indies were turning a corner after the first ODI although I did warn that their run chase papered over many cracks and those cracks were well and truly exposed once again on Sunday when their bowling got carted at the death and their batting returned to the shambles it was against England.

We will really see what the West Indies are made of in this match. We’ll also find out just how influential Jason Holder is as a captain. His performance in the previous match was one where he could hold his head high but he needs to inspire his team to perform with him but with such little turnaround getting back up to win the series would be a huge effort.

Pakistan

The touring Pakistan could be forgiven for thinking they should have the series wrapped up by now. Had it not been for once of the craziest blitzes with the bat they have ever run into they certainly would have the series locked up and secured but as it is they had to endure that and now face a decider.

In both matches Pakistan’s batting has been very strong. In the second ODI the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed was very good. Even though Pakistan had early wickets he made sure there was to be no repeat of the first ODI carnage and kept on the attack. It was a move which paid dividends with a fine win.

Team News

The West Indies could be forced into a change as Shannon Gabriel may miss the match through injury. Miguel Cummins is ready to come into the side should Gabriel not make it.

Pakistan’s performance in the last game was so dominant and the victory so emphatic that it would be a huge surprise if they were to make any changes.

Providence Stadium

We’ve seen two different ODIs so far on this ground and it will be interesting to see what we get from this third match. You would think the wicket will be the slowest of the three so far given the heat that will have baked down on the square during the first two matches.

Betting

There isn’t just this series on the line in this match. The match also has huge implications for the next World Cup so this is one of the biggest ODIs there has been for a while. I would expect Pakistan to win the game but as with the previous match they are no real price.

I’m sticking with the bet which served me well in the previous match and that is the performance of Ashley Nurse. He had another big impression on the second ODI and in the series so far he now has performance totals of 114 and 64pts so I’m not overly sure how we’re still getting a line of 33.5pts for him here.

He had a stumping missed in the previous game so he could easily have banked another 20pts and with the wicket likely to assist the spinners even more I expect that line to be covered whether it is with the bat, the ball or a combination of the two.

Tips

Back A.Nurse’s Performance – Over 33.5pts for a 4/10 stake at 1.83 with Bet365
