The round of 16 at Wimbledon will draw to a close on Monday when the halves of the bracket which wasn’t on show on Sunday will take to the three main courts on a day where we will complete the line-up for the quarter finals.
We have a really good schedule to enjoy on Monday and with the weather set fair the matches should be played under the skies rather than roofs which should make the action even more enjoyable to witness.
Centre Court
We begin with the man who is determined to get the title back after he has lost the last two finals as Novak Djokovic bids for a place in the quarter final against the man who he should have faced in the last eight here last year in Alex de Minaur. The Australian withdrew before that contest but has shown no signs of not turning up this time. When they are done the teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva takes to the court for a battle with the feisty American player Emma Navarro. When they are done the world number one Jannik Sinner will look to make it through to the last eight when he faces off against Grigor Dimitrov.
Court 1
There is another good schedule taking place over on Court 1 too. This time it is the women who get us up and running as the former Olympic champion Belinda Bencic takes on Ekaterina Alexandrova in what is a huge chance for both women. When they are done Ben Shelton will meet Lorenzo Sonego for the third Grand Slam in succession in 2025 after the American prevailed in the Australian Open and the French Open. We go back to the women’s draw for the final match on the second court as Iga Swiatek looks to reach the quarter final of the tournament when she meets the underrated Clara Tauson.

Court 2
That leaves us with just the two singles matches for the remainder of the day and these will be the last singles games on this court for the entire tournament. The former finalist Marin Cilic will be the first on the court looking to make it through to the quarter final when he takes on Flavio Cobolli who is a seeded player looking for his own spot in the last eight. When they are done Liudmila Samsonova will look to continue flying under the radar when she takes on the Spanish player Jessica Bouzas Maneiro for a spot in the last eight.
Betting
I like a couple of bets over the course of the day with the first of them coming in the rematch between Ben Shelton and Lorenzo Sonego. When these two met in Melbourne at the beginning of the season they went four sets which yielded 45 games and then when they competed in Paris they went the distance and we ended up with 46 games and I think we’re going to be in that ballpark again here too because Sonego has a great game for grass and it finally looks to have clicked on the surface for Shelton. Shelton has come through without dropping a set so far but at the same time he hasn’t played anyone that tricky. The concern would be that Sonego went five hours in the last match but four of the five sets he played against Brandon Nakashima went to a tiebreak and I’m expecting tiebreaks at some point in this one too. The game line for this one is 39.5 and I would be very surprised if with four sets, which I fully expect to get, if that line isn’t covered so I’ll play the over.
The other bet that I like is for Emma Navarro to beat Mirra Andreeva. Andreeva is most definitely a superstar in waiting if she isn’t one already but she might meet her match here. Navarro took care of a teenage sensation here last year when she dumped Coco Gauff out of the tournament and I think Andreeva could go the same way here. I’m fairly comfortable with this one going three sets and that makes the 6/4 about the American value but if someone is going to dominate this one then the level of the American has just been a little cleaner than Andreeva and Navarro has faced a test and is battle hardened. She’s the value pick to me.
