World Cup Qualifiers – Monday 4th September European Matches Betting Preview

The penultimate night of World Cup Qualifiers on Monday has England back in action once again as three more groups continue to determine who will make it through to Russia and who won’t. We’ve seen shocks, surprises and plenty of quality so far this week and more should be expected in this set of matches.

Group C

There is an early kick off in this group as the two minnows meet when Azerbaijan take on San Marino but the match of the night comes later on as Northern Ireland in second place host third placed Czech Republic in Belfast. Germany host Norway in the other match and will qualify for Russia if they win and Northern Ireland fail to.

Group E

We have an early start in this group too as Denmark look to steal a march on the rest when they head to Armenia. Poland will look to continue their push for Russia when they host Kazakhstan while the big game in the group sees Montenegro, who are right in contention to win the group, hosting Romania.

Group F

The top two in this group meet in a huge match at Wembley Stadium. England take a two point lead over Slovakia into the contest but if they lose the match they will lose their grip on the group. Scotland and Slovenia are fighting hard to pull the leading two in. Scotland host Malta while Slovenia host Lithuania.

Betting

I find this a tricky card to pick bets in so I’m only going with the one bet which is in the big match at Wembley Stadium. Slovakia can go above England with a win but I don’t expect them to come out and express themselves. If we think back to last year we saw that they can be tough to break down and England have just struggled to break down Malta let alone a stubborn and well organised Slovakia.

These two sides drew 0-0 in the Euros last year and England needed a 95th minute winner to win 1-0 in the reverse fixture in this group. I expect Slovakia to try and frustrate England but I wouldn’t be completely surprised if England end up settling for a draw here. That will keep them top with two matches to play so under 2.5 goals looks the way forward for me.
