World Cup Qualifying – Friday 9th June European Matches Betting Preview

The football season might be over in Europe but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a stupidly scheduled set of World Cup Qualifiers and indeed the latest round of them take place this weekend beginning on Friday night as three groups go another step towards determining who will be heading to Russia next year.

Among the sides in action on Friday night we have the European champions Portugal, France, Netherlands and Belgium on an evening where the big guns will look to impress.

Group A

The pick of the matches in this group on Friday night sees Sweden taking on France in Stockholm. Elsewhere the Netherlands host Luxembourg in a match they should win comfortably and Belarus play Bulgaria in the most even looking match of the night.

Group B

European champions Portugal head to Latvia for their latest match in the World Cup qualifiers with the other two strong sides in the group both being away to minnows. Switzerland travel to the Faroe Islands and Hungary go to Andorra looking to pile on the goals.

Group H

All eyes will be on Belgium in this group once again. They head to Estonia for what should be a comfortable win. Cyprus go to Gibraltar looking for a much needed win but the match of the night in this section is likely to be the one between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Greece.

Betting

Everywhere we look on Friday we have heavy odds on favourites apart from one match so I’m not going to get too involved here but there is one of those short prices I’m going to attack in some form.

Latvia beat Andorra in their opening match in this campaign but since then they have lost four in a row and only scored one goal in that time and I don’t expect them to fare much better on Friday night against a Portugal side who are rampant at the minute.

In their last four qualifiers the European champions have bagged 19 goals and you could argue Ronaldo has never been in better form. This is the start of a big few weeks for Portugal with the Confederations Cup beginning next week and I expect them to begin that run with an emphatic win here.

Tips

WON – Back Portugal (-2.25AH) to beat Latvia for a 4/10 stake at 1.86 with Bet365
