World Cup Qualifying – Monday 10th October European Matches Betting Preview

The penultimate night of this set of European Qualifiers in World Cup Qualifying takes place on Monday night when three groups play their third matches of the campaign. There is no home interest on Monday but that doesn’t mean we’re without some decent stars on show.

Group A

There is no doubt about the star match of the evening. It is in this group and it is the one between the Netherlands and France. Both sides will be looking to pick up a much needed three points in that one. The other two matches sees Sweden hosting Bulgaria and Belarus playing Luxembourg.

Group B

The European champions Portugal are heading to the Faroe Islands just three days after destroying Andorra. Switzerland have the chance to run up their goal difference when they head to Andorra while Latvia host Hungary in the other match in the group.

Group H

Belgium will be looking to enhance their goal difference when they visit Gibraltar in what should be a one sided contest. Cyrpus go to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Estonia face Greece in the other two matches in this section.

Betting

There are two bets I like in this fixture list and they are both on away sides who impressed on Friday night. The first of those is Hungary who head to a Latvia side who I just haven’t been at all impressed with in this campaign so far. I mean no disrespect to the Faroe Islands who are actually improving all the time but losing at home to them was a disastrous result for Latvia.

While Hungary were beaten late on by Switzerland on Friday night they showed some good signs and were full of spirit in coming back as they did and that can serve them well here. Latvia are a poor side and I expect Hungary to exploit that and win this one.

Greece are very much a side on the upgrade again after a horrendous Euro2016 qualifying campaign and they head to Estonia as worthy favourites. Estonia took an age to finally get the better of Gibraltar on Friday night and that doesn’t bode well for them. This is a Greek side who have beaten the Netherlands in a friendly recently and they have won their opening two qualifiers. I expect that to be three in a row after this one.
