World Cup Qualifying – Sunday 11th June European Matches Betting Preview

The summer round of World Cup Qualifiers draws to a close in Europe on Sunday evening when the three groups who haven’t featured this weekend do so. We’ve had England, Scotland and Northern Ireland in action and on Sunday it is the turn of Republic of Ireland and Wales as well as heavyweights Spain and Italy to play so it should be a good night of action.

Group D

The Republic of Ireland are involved in an early kick off on Sunday evening when they host fellow Euro 2016 qualifiers Austria. Moldova host Georgia in the other early game but the match of the night in this group is the one between leaders Serbia and Euro 2016 semi-finalists Wales.

Group G

We have all three matches in this group kicking off at the later start time with Spain expected to extent their advantage at the top of it when they head to Macedonia. Italy should keep up the gallop in behind though when they play host to Liechtenstein in what is surely a penalty kick. Israel host Albania in the other group.

Group I

There is an early match in this group too when Finland host Ukraine but the game of the night is the one between the top two as Iceland in second place host the leaders Croatia in a match which could have a big say on the automatic qualification picture. Kosovo host Turkey in what sounds like a tasty tussle.

Betting

I’ll go with two on Sunday evening and while it isn’t always wise to take on Wales I’m going to tentatively do so because Gareth Bale is suspended as is Neil Taylor while Hal Robson-Kanu, Andy King and James Collins are all injured. To me that opens the door up for a Serbia side who are decent enough at home and who are so hard to break down especially with the shield they have in front of their defence.

That shield can come to real good use in this match while at the other end I fancy Serbia to get something. I don’t think they’ll get six like they did in Chris Coleman’s first match in charge but one might be enough as I don’t see Wales scoring in this one without Bale.

Albania were meant to warm up for their match with Israel with a comfortable friendly against Luxembourg last weekend but that didn’t go to plan as they lost it 2-1 and that isn’t the result that was needed heading to an Israel side who generally go well at home and who have already won 3-0 in Albania in this campaign. Albania have now lost their last five matches and with the visiting keeper and captain suspended for this match this looks a good chance for Israel to claim another three points.
