World Snooker Championship 2025 – Day 15 Tips and Betting Preview

The World Championship continues on Saturday but we only have one match taking to the baize after the other semi-final finished a day early. It still means that by the end of the day we will know the two men who will battle for the title on Sunday and Monday.

We have two sessions of play inside the Crucible Theatre as the second semi-final comes to a close on what still promises to be a dramatic and high quality day of snooker on the biggest stage that the sport is played on.

Day 14 Recap

The big news is that Ronnie O’Sullivan is out of the competition. He was due to conclude his semi-final with Zhao Xintong on Saturday afternoon but the Chinese star had other ideas as he won all eight frames in the morning session and then five of the eight in the evening to wrap up a 17-7 win and earn a day off on Saturday. The other match is at the halfway point with Mark Williams having equalised to go into the third and fourth sessions on Saturday locked at 8-8.

It was a very good betting day for us on Friday with Zhao Xintong making three centuries on his way to his win over Ronnie O’Sullivan which means that the Thursday and Friday bets in that match both sailed in at solid prices. We are in good shape with the outstanding bet as well because with Trump and Williams level at 8-8 going into Saturday, one of them is going to need to win 9-3 from here to stop the over 28.5 frames bet from landing and it hasn’t been that sort of match.

In Play Betting

With the early conclusion to the Xintong vs O’Sullivan match, we have just the one game left for in play betting and there are a number of options in terms of markets open to us and they are all in play given that Judd Trump will resume 8-8 with Mark Williams. I’m already on over 28.5 frames here so those who have followed us in this week will be sitting pretty with that bet but I feel compelled to go back in given how close it is.

There is an obvious case at 8-8 for Mark Williams to be value at 2/1 in much the same way that he was at 8-8 against John Higgins in the quarter final but I always felt that Saturday might be the day that catches the Welshman out with two sessions in the one day and as such, much like I did before a ball was hit, I fancy Trump to come out on top. Handicaps don’t really interest me but a small investment on 17-14 and 17-15 does. From here that would be 9-6 or 9-7 to Trump on Saturday and in a match that has been tight throughout between two men who are no strangers to tight matches that feels about right to me.
