Another Premier League weekend concludes with the Monday Night Football which this week comes from the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal look to build on a promising performance at Chelsea when they host a dogged West Brom side.
Both sides will climb up a few places in the Premier League table should they win this match so neither are going to be short of motivation although it is probably a bigger match for the home side than it is the visitors.
Arsenal
This has been one of the most inconsistent starts to a season that Arsenal have had. They have been in good positions in matches and they have been thrashed in others but last time out against Chelsea they produced probably their most promising performance for a while. That will mean little if they don’t win this match though.
The steel they showed last week is something that we haven’t seen from them for a long time. If they can maintain that change in approach in the big matches and make themselves hard to beat we know more often than not they have goals in them. They are likely to be on the front foot for most of this game which should suit them.
West Brom
Just like Arsenal, West Brom have displayed some good games and some bad games. Their win over Burnley was good but their defeat at Brighton less so. I sense by the signings they have made and the talk coming out of The Hawthorns that the Baggies want to be a little more expansive in their attacking play.
That would be interesting because that would go against Tony Pulis’ safety first culture. I would imagine we will see West Brom setting up to be hard to beat as they normally do and look to use the pace they have in wide areas to get up the pitch and try to threaten. They will need to defend very well to get anything from this one.
Team News
Danny Welbeck has been ruled out for a period of time so he will be missing for Arsenal. The Gunners will hope that Theo Walcott is fit to play and they could have Mesut Ozil back for the game too.
West Brom has brought Jake Livermore back into their squad after his extended break. They will give checks to Chris Brunt, Nacer Chadli and Oliver Burke. Gareth Barry will break the Premier League appearance record if he features.

Betting
There isn’t anything that tempts me in this match. I would expect Arsenal to win but they are no price to do so and I don’t like taking sides to cover big handicaps against West Brom because they rarely lose by many.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this ends something like 1-0 or 2-0 to Arsenal but no markets really give us the value to use those potential scores to our advantage. I had a winner in the Premier League on Saturday and I’ll sit on that until next weekend.
