The main set of Premier League matches this weekend take place on Saturday but due to the Friday Night Football and the Europa League the day before that, there are just six matches over the course of the day.
The leaders don’t play until Sunday so there is the chance for the leading four chasers to close the gap between them and top spot which should make it an interesting day even if there are such few matches.
3pm Matches
There is no early game on Saturday so we go straight to the 3pm matches where Crystal Palace host Stoke City at Selhurst Park. Brighton make the long trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United while Newcastle welcome Watford to St James’ Park. Swansea face Bournemouth at the Liberty Stadium while West Brom’s first match without Tony Pulis in charge takes place at Wembley Stadium when they face Tottenham.
Late Game
The action is rounded off with the best match of the day when Liverpool host Chelsea in a real heavyweight battle. Even this early in the campaign the losers of this will most probably be able to kick goodbye to any chances of winning the title. The winners could move up in the table depending on the earlier results.

Betting
It is a truncated set of matches and my number of bets are minimal accordingly. In fact I’m going with just the one bet which comes from Wales where I think Bournemouth are worth backing against Swansea. Swansea are without Tammy Abraham for this match which is a massive blow to their chances.
Bournemouth have slipped into a nice groove after a tough start to the campaign and with their winning form giving them confidence not to mention Callum Wilson showing excellent form last week I think they’ll have enough to pile on even more misery and pressure onto the Swans.
