2017-18 Sky Bet League 2 – Easter Monday Matches Betting Preview

We have reached the home straight in the Sky Bet League 2 season and with six games remaining for most of the sides the stakes could hardly be higher from here on in. That makes the Easter Monday fixture list incredibly important and hugely competitive.

There are still issues at both ends of the table to solve and we might go some way to solving them on Monday so there is plenty to focus on over the course of the afternoon.

Monday’s fixtures are as follows (All 3pm kick off)

Accrington Stanley v Notts County

Carlisle United v Lincoln City

Chesterfield v Newport County

Coventry City v Yeovil Town

Crawley Town v Swindon Town

Crewe Alexandra v Port Vale

Exeter City v Cheltenham Town

Forest Green Rovers v Colchester United

Luton Town v Mansfield Town

Morecambe v Cambridge United

Stevenage v Barnet

Wycombe Wanderers v Grimsby Town

Big Matches

The big match comes from the Wham Stadium where the leaders and our outright pick Accrington Stanley host Notts County who are in fourth place and desperately trying to hang in the automatic promotion picture. The two pre-season title favourites meet at Kenilworth Road when second placed Luton host out of form Mansfield. Wycombe in third welcome Grimsby to Adams Park.

Best of the Rest

Exeter City will be looking to bounce back from their shock turnover at Lincoln on Saturday when they host Cheltenham Town while Coventry in sixth take on Yeovil. At the other end of the table Barnet head to Stevenage looking to build on Saturday’s win while Chesterfield host Newport County in a match which is almost must win for the home side. There is a local derby of sorts at Gresty Road when Crewe take on Port Vale with both sides eager to win to ease their relegation concerns.

Betting

I was going to take a couple of bets here but the forecast for the day is absolutely atrocious and with this being the second match in four days for most of the league it just doesn’t feel like a day to be going head first into.

The bet I like and will take though comes at Adams Park where Grimsby’s plunge back to non-league is expected to continue. They take on a Wycombe Wanderers side who did their automatic promotion hopes the world of good on Friday and with Notts County away to the leagues a win here would have Wycombe perfectly positioned for go up to League 1. I wouldn’t say this is a penalty kick for the home side but they have enough options in their squad to keep things as refreshed as possible at this time of year and they can see off a Grimsby side who have almost given up for the season.

Tips

HALF WON – Back Wycombe Wanderers (-0.75AH) to beat Grimsby Town for a 4/10 stake at 1.90 with BetVictor
