Group C commences in the Africa Cup of Nations on Monday which means we see the defending champions Ivory Coast in action for the first time. Also in action on a busy day of two matches are Togo, Morocco and DR Congo.
Ivory Coast vs Togo
The day gets underway with probably the pick of the two matches. Ivory Coast will be looking to put a marker down to begin their title defence with while Togo will be out to show they haven’t arrived in Gabon purely to make the numbers up.
We’ve seen plenty of open matches so far in the tournament and I think we might well see another here. Ivory Coast have plenty of offensive weapons across their squad even if they don’t look as strong as they have in previous tournaments while Togo have nothing to lose and should give this a real go.
The goal line is 2.25 again here which served us well with a winner on Sunday and I’ll play it again in Monday’s opener. I’ll go with the overs.
DR Congo vs Morocco
If the first match looks likely to be open I’m not convinced this second one will be. I think this will be tight and edgy because the losers may well need to beat Ivory Coast to qualify and that is no easy task.
I have to say I think the draw and a stalemate is very much in play here so I won’t bet on the match. Hopefully DR Congo can find a way through and edge it to boost their chances of qualifying to bring the outright bet in. I’ll stick with one on Monday.
