2017 Australian Open Tennis – Day 7 Betting Preview

We’ve reached the middle Sunday of the Australian Open which means the fourth round of both singles draws is about to begin in what should be another great day of tennis in Melbourne.

Mixed in with the eight singles matches are plenty of doubles matches so there is plenty for both the crowds in Melbourne and us watching on TV to enjoy.

Rod Laver Arena

The action is top notch on this court on Sunday and it begins with the match between Svetlana Kuznetsova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova before Venus Williams looks for a place in another Grand Slam quarter final when she plays Mona Barthel. Andy Murray then takes on Mischa Zverev to finish the day session.

The night session begins with a potential epic of a men’s match between former champion Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori before Angelique Kerber continues her title defence against Coco Vandeweghe.

Margaret Court Arena

Two doubles matches get this court underway on Sunday before the first of two singles matches sees former winner Stan Wawrinka taking on Andreas Seppi for a quarter final spot. Sorana Cirstea takes on Garbine Muguruza in the other match.

Hisense Arena

Plenty of good doubles action takes centre stage on this court too but there is one singles match which sees Jo-Wilfried Tsonga taking on the British giant killer Dan Evans in an intriguing looking battle.

Betting

I have a few hunches for Sunday’s action but only one I’m going to follow up into a bet and it comes out on the Margaret Court Arena where Stan Wawrinka takes on Andreas Seppi.

Both these men have been involved in battles to get to this stage and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is another of those. Wawrinka doesn’t always come through these sorts of matches as easily as he should do and we’ve seen through the years that Seppi loves the big stage and playing the big players.

I would be surprised if Stan Wawrinka loses this match but I think Seppi can be good enough for a set even if it is only via a tiebreak so I like over 3.5 sets in this one.

Tips

Back S.Wawrinka vs A.Seppi – Over 3.5 sets for a 4/10 stake at 2.20 with Paddy Power
