The second day of action in the China Open qualifying event takes place up in Preston on Wednesday with more big names taking to the tables across the three sessions looking to book their place in the main event in Beijing.
Tuesday saw carnage for the favourites which should focus the minds of the big names on Wednesday and it will be interesting to see how they cope.
Morning Session
Graeme Dott is one of the matches on the streamed tables in this session. He takes on Jak Jones while Gary Wilson will go up against Duane Jones in the other streamed match. Rory McLeod plays Daniel Womersley, Stuart Carrington meets Wang Yuchen and Ian Burns plays Thor Chuan Leong in the other matches.
Afternoon Session
Sam Baird and Jimmy White get the streamed treatment in this session with Michael Holt and Liam Highfield on the other table with cameras. Michael White faces Kritsanut Lertsattayatthorn, Yu Delu plays Hammad Miah and Peter Ebdon plays Rhys Clark in this session.
Evening Session
Mark Williams is up in this session and on a streamed table. He faces the young Chinese star Zhao Xintong who will be looking to make his home open. John Higgins competes on the other streamed table when he plays Darryl Hill. Thepchaiya Un-Nooh plays Martin O’Donnell, Mark Davis meets Yan Bingtao and Oliver Lines plays Zhang Anda in the other matches.
Betting
Just the one bet interests me in this session and it is the battle of the stablemates Oliver Lines and Zhang Anda. Lines is the favourite for this match but he isn’t yet at the stage in his career where I can rely on him as a favourite. Zhang Anda is the same but as an outsider he is a lot more reliable.
I’m not sure how much we can read into their only meeting which was four years ago but Zhang Anda won on that occasion and he just looks like he is having a more solid season to me. At odds against he’s the value call in a match where there isn’t a lot between the two.
