2017 Dutch Darts Masters – Last 32 Betting Preview

The last 32 of the Dutch Darts Masters takes place over two sessions of frantic action in Maastricht on Saturday and that means we get to see the seeded players in the tournament for the first time.

With that in mind we will see the likes of Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright on the oche among the other impressive players left in the tournament in what should be a good day of arrers on the European Tour.

Afternoon Session

We get underway with Cristo Reyes taking on the largely unknown Robert Owen before Alan Norris takes on Mike De Decker. Rob Cross then meets Jamie Lewis in what looks like a close contest and then comes Jelle Klaasen looking to progress in a home event when he plays Krzysztof Ratajski.

After the interval Gerwyn Price goes up against Martin Schindler before Ian White plays John Henderson. The final two matches of the afternoon see Joe Cullen facing Jimmy Hendriks before the game of the afternoon rounds things off when Mervyn King takes on Kyle Anderson.

Evening Session

Benito van de Pas gets to open up the evening on home soil. He faces Nathan Aspinall before Daryl Gurney plays Steve West. Simon Whitlock and Kirk Shepherd do battle in the third match before the all-Dutch clash between Michael van Gerwen and Jeffrey de Zwaan.

After the break in play Peter Wright will be on the stage taking on Jim Walker before one of the ties of the round between Kim Huybrechts and Christian Kist. Two young guns go up against each other when Michael Smith plays Rowby-John Rodriguez before the day concludes as Mensur Suljovic faces Steve Beaton.

Betting

This is not a card I strongly like the look of I have to admit. I say that because a number of the qualifiers are badly matched and some of the favourites that I want to take on, those who have been down under recently, don’t have opponents I like. In the end I’m going with one which comes in the final match of the night.

When I was researching this card I was amazed to find that Steve Beaton has played Mensur Suljovic seven times in the past and won on all seven occasions. Three or four wins on one side can be legislated for but not seven of them. They met last year too so it is not as though all of them came when Suljovic was nothing like the player he is today.

There is clearly something about facing Beaton that doesn’t agree with the Austrian and given that Beaton has played this weekend and scored well enough I think the Englishman is worth taking here.

Tips

WON – Back S.Beaton to beat M.Suljovic for a 3/10 stake at 3.00 with Bet365
