2017 Ram Slam T20 Challenge Final – Titans vs Dolphins Betting Preview

The Ram Slam T20 draws to a conclusion on Saturday afternoon when the defending champions Titans take on the former winners Dolphins at SuperSport Park in Centurion in the final of what has been a rain affected tournament.

The final sees the top two in the regular season doing battle which I guess is what everyone wants from these competitions and on what is usually a good pitch we should be set for a thrilling final.

Titans

There hasn’t been a stage in this tournament where I haven’t thought the Titans have been the champions in waiting in this event but the impressive thing has been how they have handled the pressure of that tag and carried the mantle of it through with them. They have oozed confidence throughout the tournament.

I guess when you have the international talent that they have at their disposal it is no surprise they are as confident as they are. They haven’t been in many tricky situations in competitive matches this season but when they have there has always been someone who has stood up to be counted which is all you can ask for in this format.

Dolphins

The Durban based outfit might be excused for thinking their name is on this trophy given how their season has panned out so far. They had nearly every regular season match affected by the rain but one match which wasn’t hampered was their final group match which they won by such a large margin they ended up coming second in the league.

That proved significant in the semi-final when the rain arrived and was so heavy that the two sides involved couldn’t even take to the field. That meant the Dolphins qualified by virtue of their league position so to say they have exhausted every possible piece of fortune would be an understatement. They will have to play here though and they’ll have to play well to win too.

Team News

The Titans have omitted Dale Steyn from their squad for this match as he is preparing for the Boxing Day Test. Henry Davids will also miss out through injury. There is no place in the squad for Morne Morkel either.

Dolphins have named their strongest squad for this final with all eyes being on their international bowling trio of Imran Tahir, Andile Phehlukwayo and Keshav Maharaj.

Betting

This has been a stop start tournament with the amount of rain that has been around over the last five weeks or so but the weather is set to be perfect for this final so we should get an exciting end to the competition. I’m already on the Titans for this final having backed them outright from the start so I don’t need to visit the match outcome market again.

The market I am interested in is the total runs where the line is 325.5. I think that is fairly low. We’ve seen the destruction the Titans batting line up can do on this ground but the Dolphins coach has been talking up how his side like the wicket at Centurion and how they are looking forward to playing on it.

Both sides have some decent bowlers in their ranks but by and large it is the batsmen who get the job done for them and on a strip which should be perfect for batting I expect the runs to flow nicely.

Tips

Back Over 325.5 total runs for a 4/10 stake at 1.83 with Bet365
