2017 Ram Slam T20 Challenge – Sunday 10th December Matches Betting Preview

The final group matches in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge takes place on Sunday when all six sides are in action. Three of the four semi-final spots have been decided and we have three sides fighting it out for the final spot on what should be an entertaining finale to the regular season.

We have a TV match on Sunday which is the big game in the race for the semi-finals. The other two matches will need the usual methods to provide updates and things. We’ll begin with the live game.

Highveld Lions vs Knights

The two sides currently outside the semi-final spots clash in Johannesburg in the last chance saloon. The Highveld Lions sit in fifth on 14pts with the Knights in sixth two points below them but if either win here and the Warriors lose whoever triumphs will claim the last spot in the play-offs.

Neither side go into the match in much of a positive state of mind but sometimes the occasion dictates the pattern of play and I’m expecting both sides to give a good account of themselves in what is the biggest match of the season.

As ever I don’t like betting on the match outcome at the Wanderers because of the batting second bias but if we can avoid the rain that is around I do like the look of over 11.5 sixes. We all know this is a small ground and that the altitude helps the ball fly. With the hitters on show here I expect that line to be cleared if the rain stays away.

Dolphins vs Titans

The table topping Titans head to Durban to take on a Dolphins side who need a win to guarantee their semi-final spot but even if they lose they are still likely to make it through as it would take a huge set of results to deny them.

For once it doesn’t look like the rain is following the Dolphins around so they should get the chance to keep their destiny in their own hands but I worry for them here. I think the Titans will be reeling from the fact they lost on Friday and they won’t want to go through with two successive defeats. I expect the visitors to win here but they are no price to do it.

Warriors vs Cape Cobras

The side currently occupying the final play-off place in the Warriors know that if they can beat the Cape Cobras they will be guaranteed a semi-final spot. Cape Cobras know that whatever happens here they will be in the play-offs next week.

I guess with the must win nature of the match the value probably lies with the Warriors in this one. The Cobras are on a bit of a roll but with them guaranteed to finish second in the table it would make sense if they rested a few of their star players. That could play into the hands of the Warriors.

I’m not someone who buys into the must win means will win theory but the fact that the Cobras don’t need to force the pace here leads me to thinking the Warriors are worth a bet.
