The second round of the Tour Championship takes place at East Lake Golf Club on Friday. Those who made it off to a good start on Thursday will be looking to consolidate that and improve their position on Friday while the players who didn’t come out of the traps quick will be eyeing up a low round to get themselves into contention. That should ensure another top day of golf.

Thursday Recap
We have a sole leader going into Friday and that is our pre-tournament pick Kyle Stanley. He holds a two shot leader after a wonderful six under 64 which was the highest he could have shot on the day. He leads from a group of four men who are on four under. They include the US Open champion Brooks Koepka and Paul Casey.
Five more men sit another shot further back on three under par. They include three men with their destiny in their own control as far as the FedEx Cup is concerned in Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.
Unfortunately it wasn’t our day betting wise with Sergio Garcia making a mess of the turn and Jordan Spieth tying with Justin Thomas but I’ll give those bets up if Stanley goes on to win the tournament!
Friday 2 balls
At the time of writing this preview there is no second round leader market up although I’m not too worried about that because there is so much talent stacked at the top of this leaderboard I don’t think I would want to pick out a potential leader. All 15 groups have been priced up though and there are two that I like among them.
Kevin Kisner vs Pat Perez
Match tees off at 18.10 BST
Two men who managed two under par rounds of 68 go off in the middle of the field when Kevin Kisner partners Pat Perez. Kisner’s record here surprises me because I always think this course sets up well for him. Perez is making his debut here and began well enough.
I wonder if in the past Kisner has had to play so much golf that when he has got here he has been jaded. If that was the case when he will be better prepared this year and we should see him deliver a positive result on the back of that. I think he can see off Perez here. Perez is a streaky player but ultimately he isn’t tight enough tee to green for my liking. That is Kisner’s strength and he looks the play to me.
Gary Woodland vs Jon Rahm
Match tees off at 18.40 BST
Two big hitters go out in one of the later groups when Gary Woodland and Jon Rahm both set off three back from Stanley’s lead. Woodland shot a bogey free round on Thursday while Rahm finished fast to save a day that was beginning to get away from him.
Woodland’s record around here is actually quite decent and when you drive it like he does that is not a surprise. That said few drive it better than Rahm when he is on form but he didn’t look to be at his best in the opening round, especially on the greens. He may improve as he goes along but he has little length advantage here so the experience of Woodland could see him shoot the lower score of the two.
Tips
Back K.Kisner to beat P.Perez for a 4/10 stake at 2.10 with Betfair
