We are down to the semi-finals in both singles draws at Wimbledon and on Thursday the ladies will take centre stage. By the end of the day we will know the two women who will be battling it out for the title on Saturday.
Two of the final four have won Grand Slams while the other two have been no further than this so it will be an intriguing day of tennis to see if the experience gets the better of inexperience.

Day 9 Recap
It was one of the most dramatic days of the tournament on Wednesday when we lost the last two winners of the title in Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. Injuries played a major part in the demise of both men. Murray fell apart to lose in five while Djokovic could go no more than two games into the second set before he departed. Marin Cilic came through a five set epic against Gilles Muller while Roger Federer steamrolled Milos Raonic.
It was a good day for us betting wise finally too. We got the win in the only bet that ended up running on Wednesday when Murray and Querrey sailed past a third set and we also landed a proper punt on Berdych to win his quarter at 12/1.
Garbine Muguruza vs Magdalena Rybarikova
The opening semi-final sees the 2015 finalist Garbine Muguruza taking on the only unseeded player remaining in the draw in Magdalena Rybarikova. Any thoughts that this could be a walkover need only be directed to the last Grand Slam when Jelena Ostapenko won the French Open despite being unseeded.
Muguruza has got better and better the longer this tournament has gone on and that is a concern for the Slovakian in this match. That said Rybarikova is here on merit too albeit she was fortunate to come up against a Coco Vandeweghe who visibly couldn’t cope with the pressure in the quarter final.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into a really exciting semi-final but I’ve a feeling it could start off a little slowly. Rybarikova could be a little nervous with this being the biggest match of her career and Muguruza has come out firing a few times this week.
When Rybarikova played Pliskova on this court she lost the first set 6-3 before finding her range. I see something similar here so under 9.5 games in the opening stanza looks a good bet to me.
Venus Williams vs Jo Konta
The pick of the semi-finals is undoubtedly this second one between the five time champion Venus Williams who is looking to emulate her sister and her six titles and the last remaining British singles hope Jo Konta who is bidding to make her first Grand Slam final.
Both women look to be going into this match in pristine form. Venus took all the power Jelena Ostapenko had and repelled it in kind while Konta was involved in her third absolute epic of the tournament when she edged out Simona Halep in a Wimbledon classic in the previous round.
Konta leads 3-2 on the head to head with three of those five matches going the distance and another one finishing 6-4 7-5 in Konta’s favour. I’m fully expecting an epic tussle here and three sets would be no surprise. I fancy a tiebreak and a tight set at the very least so over 22.5 games looks an obvious way to play this semi.
