2018-19 Premier League – Saturday 9th February Matches Betting Preview

The latest round of Premier League matches begins with seven fixtures on another intriguing Saturday in the division, where the focus will be on a number of sides for various different reasons over the course of the day.

We have to wait until Sunday for the big match of the weekend but that doesn’t mean quality will not be on show on Saturday. Liverpool headline the day as they look to return to the top of the table ahead of Manchester City playing on Sunday.

Early Kick Off

The action gets underway at Old Trafford where manager of the month Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to lead his Manchester United side to another victory. They take on a Fulham side who really have to start winning soon if they are going to make it out of the danger zone and secure another campaign in the top flight. That isn’t going to be easy with the way United are playing under their interim Norwegian boss however.

3pm Matches

A further five games take place in the traditional kick off slot and all eyes will be on Anfield to see if Liverpool can get the draw they need to overtake Manchester City once again. In reality though they need a win to pile the pressure on City. They face a Bournemouth side who have taken some beatings from the top six sides this season and will surely be determined to avoid another one of those here.

Elsewhere tensions will be running high at Vicarage Road as Marco Silva returns for the first time when Watford host his Everton side. We have a London derby at Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace take on West Ham United, Southampton host Cardiff in something of a six pointer at the bottom of the table and Huddersfield go up against Arsenal in the other match.

Late Game

The last match of the day must have been chosen when the BT Sport director had a bit too much amber nectar flowing through his body as Brighton and Hove Albion host Burnley in something of a low-key way to conclude the day. Both sides will at least see this as an opportunity to pick up three valuable points in the battle to avoid the drop which might deliver an open game but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one.

Betting

I’ll go with just the one bet over the course of the day on Saturday. It comes in the big match at Anfield where a 3.25 goal line looks a bit of a steal it has to be said. The last six meetings between Liverpool and Bournemouth in the Premier League have had three goals in them but both sides are probably even more attacking this season than past ones.

Bournemouth have shipped a few goals to the bigger teams this season. Man Utd recently banged four past them while Tottenham went one better and Liverpool put four past the Cherries down at the Vitality Stadium as well. We should acknowledge that Bournemouth can be dangerous themselves as Chelsea found out to their cost. I wouldn’t back Bournemouth to keep the door shut here but Liverpool have started leaking goals suddenly. Over 3.25 goals looks a bit of a gimme to me.
