The third matchday of the UEFA Nations League concludes on Saturday and as we have seen in the matches played so far there is plenty at stake for a number of sides who want to get themselves into a better position in the competition.
Some pretty big nations take to the pitch over the course of what is a busy day with three different kick off times so there is much to look into and potential enjoy to round off what has been a very competitive week.
Group A
There is only one match in the top group on Saturday and it comes from section A1 where the former World Cup winners Germany head to the Netherlands in a match which will see Germany in a very good position if they can come out on top in it. The Netherlands are battling to remain among the elite and need a win here to help their cause it must be said.
Group B
We have a couple of matches in Group B and that includes the first game to kick off when passions are likely to run high as Slovakia host the Czech Republic in B1. There will be a revenge mission on the go later in the day when Republic of Ireland welcome Denmark to Dublin in B4. It was Denmark who ended the Irish dream of going to the World Cup. They will want to get their own back in a match they need to win to remain realistic challengers in this competition.
Group C
The action in Group C comes from C3 on Saturday where a competitive little section continues to be played out. Slovenia are yet to win a point from their opening two matches but they will have the chance to do just that when they head to Norway in the earlier of the two matches. Bulgaria will put themselves in a fantastic position to be promoted if they beat Cyprus in the later match.
Group D
There is plenty of action in Group D on Saturday evening. It begins in D1 where Georgia play host to a dogged Andorra side with Latvia hosting Kazakhstan in a must win match for both sides while over in D4 it should be all about Armenia. They play host to Gibraltar looking for three points which will have them bang in contention. Macedonia then welcome Liechtenstein in the other match in this group.

Betting
I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the evening with the first of those being on Germany to see off the Netherlands. I think in time we should expect the Netherlands to get back to somewhere where they once were but that won’t happen until they find some firepower and it is that lack of a world class goal threat that makes me think they are vulnerable against Germany. Germany showed in their draw with France in their opening match that they are smarting from their World Cup showing and so I expect them to take this pretty seriously. They are better than they showed in Russia and can remind everyone of their qualities against the Netherlands.
We’ve seen throughout this third matchday so far that in matches between sides of equal ability the true quality individual on the pitch can make all the difference. On Friday, Lukaku scored twice, Mitroglu and Arnautovic also scored winners while on Thursday, Bernardo Silva did it as did Aleksandar Mitrovic. That makes me think Armenia will have a good win on Saturday. To be fair they are better than Gibraltar anyway but Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be comfortably the best player on the park. Estonia have put six past Gibraltar in recent times and Liechtenstein beat them 2-0 in their previous match. Gibraltar should be outclassed here and I expect a comfortable Armenian win.
