2018-19 UEFA Nations League – Tuesday 16th October Matches Betting Preview

The final night of UEFA Nations League in this international break takes place on Tuesday evening when those groups which have not yet had their fourth match day has it on a night where some big sides come out to play.

The pick of those are the world champions France who take on the side they took the World Cup from in Germany while closer to home the Republic of Ireland and Wales meet in a big match for both sides.

New Customers can get Rep of Ireland at an enhanced 40/1 to beat Wales. Max Stake £1. Winnings paid in free bets. Full T&Cs Apply. 18+|Gamble Aware.

Group A

That match between the last two World Cup winners is the only match in the elite group on Tuesday evening. Germany will be looking to respond to their defeat by the Netherlands on Saturday night while France could only draw with Iceland in a friendly earlier in the international break so both sides will be looking for better in this one.

Group B

There are two matches in the second tier on Tuesday evening with the Ukraine taking on the Czech Republic in B1 and that clash between the Republic of Ireland and Wales in B4. Ireland know they are out of the competition if they lose while Wales will have the group in their own hands if they can find the victory.

Group C

The only group in action in the third tier is C3 where the top two meet as Norway play host to Bulgaria. The visitors can all but win the section if they pick up the victory. The other match in the section sees Slovenia and Cyprus looking for valuable points as they bid to fight off the threat of relegation.

Group D

There are four matches in Group D on Tuesday evening with Kazakhstan taking on Andorra and then Georgia looking to maintain control of their section when they head to lowly Latvia. In D4 Armenia will look to respond to their disappointing defeat to Gibraltar at the weekend when they host Macedonia while the aforementioned Gibraltar go in search of successive wins when they take on Liechtenstein.

Betting

Georgia have a 100% record in their group and I expect that to stay in place when they head to a poor Latvia side on Tuesday. Latvia have only been able to draw with Andorra and Kazakhstan in this group so far while they lost the reverse fixture against Georgia. Georgia have won seven of their last nine matches and in those wins they have not conceded a single goal. Latvia are a fading force and are unlikely to offer much resistance to an underrated Georgian outfit.

Ukraine are on a lengthy unbeaten run and warmed up for this match with a good draw against Italy last week and I expect them to have too much for an average Czech Republic side in Kiev on Tuesday evening. Ukraine have some standout attacking talent in the form of Andriy Yarmolenko and Yevhen Konoplyanka. They know they will win the group with a win in this match and I expect them to go out and get that in style.
