We have a really busy day in the ATP Miami Open on Tuesday when the entire last 16 of the tournament is played out at Crandon Park in Florida. The tournament really begins to crank up a notch from here on in so we should get some great tennis.
The remainder of the tournament is played out on the two show courts from here on in which will also increase the drama from here on. There are some juicy matches to see on Tuesday and a couple where players have the chance to make a name for themselves.
Day 6 Recap
It was a day of three setters in the main in the men’s draw on Monday with Kevin Anderson, Fernando Verdasco and Alexander Zverev all winning in three. There were more comfortable victories for Nick Kyrgios and Pablo Carreno Busta on a day where major shocks were few and far between.
Once again it was another good day for us betting wise. We had two bets and both landed safely to extend our match record for the tournament to eight wins from just nine bets with a profit of 30pts. Pablo Carreno Busta saw off Steve Johnson in straight sets while Kevin Anderson and Karen Khachanov went three sets which was enough to get our 23.5 games in.
Stadium Court
Two matches jump out on Tuesday and the first of those opens up the action on the Stadium Court when John Isner faces Marin Cilic in a battle of the powerful servers. After a women’s match the tournament favourite Juan Martin del Potro will be up on court when he takes on Filip Krajinovic. Two young stars are next on court when Denis Shapovalov takes on Borna Coric. The other standout match comes in the night session when Nick Kyrgios takes on Alexander Zverev.
Grandstand
It is men all the way on the Grandstand court and the action there gets going when Joao Sousa takes on our outright pick Hyeon Chung for a place in the quarter finals. Milos Raonic is next up on the court. He faces the man who took care of Grigor Dimitrov in the previous round in Jeremy Chardy before the match between Tomas Berdych and Frances Tiafoe comes to an end after they were hauled off at 2am on Tuesday morning. The third match of the day is an all-Spanish clash when Fernando Verdasco plays Pablo Carreno Busta and then Berdych or Tiafoe takes on Kevin Anderson.

Betting
I like two bets over the course of Tuesday although I’m pretty certain I’ll be taking Kevin Anderson against whoever he ends up playing given that they were going at it at 2.30am in the morning in a lengthy tussle.
The first bet comes in the form of Pablo Carreno Busta. He breezed through on Monday and while he might have a lengthier tussle on Tuesday when he takes on Fernando Verdasco. Verdasco was involved in a corker of a contest on Monday but those sorts of matches have to take their toll. PCB is the better player of the two and he’s the fresher player of the two as well. I think he’ll come through this one.
In the night session I like Nick Kyrgios to see off Alexander Zverev. While there could be a doubt about how Kyrgios’ body will hold up in a lengthy tussle I think he’s good enough to come through this with a little bit of ease. Zverev was dusted up in his first match in Indian Wells last week and he’s had to go three sets in both matches this week so he clearly isn’t cooking on gas. Kyrgios has looked good in his two matches thus far, cruising through in straight sets both times. Whether it is two sets or three I think he’ll come through here and cover a 1.5 game handicap.
