The final day of snooker action for 2017 takes place on Friday when the qualifying event for the German Masters comes to an end. We know the identity of eight men who will travel to Berlin for the final stages in the New Year and the draw will be completed on another busy day on Friday.
We saw the likes of Mark Selby and Shaun Murphy make it safely through on Thursday evening and another bunch of big names will be looking to secure their passages across the three sessions on Friday.
Morning Session
The first match on the live streamed table is an all-Welsh clash between two of the best players the nation has produced when Matthew Stevens takes on Mark Williams. The other streamed table will see Joe Perry going up against Thor Chuan Leong.
The outside tables will be packed for this session. Aditya Mehta takes on Matthew Selt, Chris Totten plays Ben Woollaston, Mike Dunn meets Dave Gilbert while Jackson Page plays Alan McManus. There is a repeat of the infamous world final between Graeme Dott and Peter Ebdon with Hamza Akbar taking on Xiao Guodong in the other match.
Afternoon Session
Ding Junhui has the honour on one of the streamed tables in the middle session of the day. He faces the former world finalist Nigel Bond for a place in the main draw while Ryan Day is on the other live offering when he goes up against John Astley.
The defending champion Anthony Hamilton continues his title defence against Mitchell Mann on one of the outside tables while Gary Wilson plays David Grace. Fergal O’Brien meets Robin Hull with Jack Lisowski taking on Stuart Carrington in a good looking match. Rory McLeod plays Niu Zhuang and Mark King faces Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in the other matches.
Evening Session
Two genuine stars of the game will get the opportunity to entertain us on the live streamed tables when Judd Trump and Neil Robertson are in action in the evening session. Trump faces Yuan Sijun while Scottish Open winner Robertson faces a potentially tough test in Tom Ford.
Ricky Walden is on the outside tables. He meets Ashley Hugill while Michael Georgiou plays Ian Burns. Mark Joyce faces a second Chinese player in as many days when he faces Wang Yuchen with Hammad Miah taking on another Chinese star in the form of Zhao Xintong. Mei Xi Wen plays Robbie Williams with the final match seeing Liang Wenbo playing Andrew Higginson.

Betting
After a horrible day on Thursday I’m not going to push the boat out on this final day of action. I’ll take just the one bet which comes along in the evening session which I hope will see us end a profitable couple of months of snooker betting with a winner.
Michael Georgiou showed enough in his two recent battles with Ronnie O’Sullivan to suggest that when a friendlier draw comes along he can take advantage of it and he has that here when he plays Ian Burns. Burns is one of those players that if you don’t put him away he’ll make you pay but I think Georgiou has the game and the class to get stuck into him. Georgiou had a good win over Zhou Yuelong in the first round and while I respect Burns’ win over Elliot Slessor I expect the better snooker, and the win, to come from Georgiou here.
Tips
WON – Back M.Georgiou to beat I.Burns for a 4/10 stake at 1.80 with BetVictor
