The third last event of the European Tour season concludes on Sunday when the final round of the Turkish Airlines Open is played out in the latest Rolex Series tournament. A host of big names have made their way to the top of the leaderboard so a fascinating Sunday is in store for us.
With a huge prize fund on offer every hole is going to be vital on Sunday and every shot of extra importance as the rankings for the European Tour campaign heads towards its end. We should witness a brilliant final round.
Round 3 Recap
It was Haotong Li who powered clear at the top of the leaderboard on Saturday and he goes into the final round with a three shot advantage on the field on 17 under par. Justin Rose and Alex Levy are on 14 under with former winner Thorbjorn Olesen is another shot back on -13. Our pre-tournament pick Sam Horsfield is alongside Danny Willett on 12 under and if anything happens to Li he is in a position where he can strike. Tommy Fleetwood is -11 with our other outright bet in with a chance of delivering a pay out being Kiradech Aphibarnrat on 10 under.
It was yet another good day for us on the betting front on Saturday with our only three ball bet of the day delivering with a bit in hand for another sizeable profit. With the two outrights keeping themselves in contention it was a very nice Saturday indeed.
Sunday Betting
Haotong Li goes into the final round as an odds on shot to win from here and if I’m honest I expect him to go on and win the tournament but it is never easy to back up a low round which will give the 11/4 poke Justin Rose hope of defending his title. Alex Levy is 9/1 to go on and land the title with Olesen the same price. I have to say those prices all look about right although the Dane is due for a low one so maybe he could come through.
I don’t see much in the way of value in those four but you would have to think the winner comes from there now so I’m just going to ride the two outrights I have challenging for a place in the hope they come through and deliver on that with the outside hope that they go very low and steal the tournament.

Sunday 3 Balls
That leaves the Sunday betting to come from the three balls. Haotong Li, Justin Rose and Alex Levy are the final group onto the golf course at 08.30 GMT with a number of decent groups out prior to that. Each place in the field has a significant amount of money attached to it so there is plenty at stake whether a player is in the first group out or the last one. One group has my attention from a betting point of view.
Thomas Aiken/Lucas Bjerregaard/Tommy Fleetwood
Match tees off at 08.10 GMT
The third to last group out onto the golf course contains the two men on 11 under par in Thomas Aiken and Tommy Fleetwood along with Lucas Bjerregaard who is a shot behind them on 10 under heading into the final 18 holes.
Bjerregaard’s tee to green game has been immaculate so far this week but he hasn’t holed as much as he would have liked on the greens. Fleetwood has also been very strong from tee to green but he’s found absolutely nothing on the greens all week. I’m a little concerned that he was in a similar position to this last week and produced a complete no show of a final round. Aiken isn’t really known for strong final rounds either so I think the Dane will have enough to get the job done in this group, especially if he can get a couple of putts to drop on the way around.
