2018 World Championship Snooker – Day 14 Betting Preview

The two World Championship semi-finals are underway inside the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and on Friday both matches continue on what could be a real pivotal day as we hurtle towards the conclusion of the tournament.

We have three sessions of action on Friday with one semi-final playing two more sessions which will leave them one session left to play on Saturday. The other match has just one session and will set up a crescendo of a finish on Saturday.

Thursday Recap

It was the beginning of the one table set up on Thursday and it was the two higher ranked players who stole marches on their opponents over the course of the day. It all began with John Higgins stealing a couple of frames to forge a 5-3 lead on Kyren Wilson while Barry Hawkins opened up a 5-2 lead before a stellar Mark Williams century in the final frame saw his lead reduced to 5-3 overnight.

In Play Betting

The first semi-final between John Higgins and Kyren Wilson play the morning and the evening session on Friday but I’m not overly sure what I made of the first session of that contest so I will leave that alone and focus on the other match for a bet on Friday.

Barry Hawkins and Mark Williams produced a high quality session of snooker on Thursday evening and when they return for their sole session in the afternoon on Friday I’m expecting much of the same. Hawkins opened up the match with a century and he could have had two more over the course of the eight frames. He started with a break of 129 and followed that up with runs of 74 and 90 which could easily have been turned into centuries so I think the 2/1 that Hawkins makes a ton between frames 9-12 looks well worth a go.

Tips

Back B.Hawkins – Over 0.5 centuries between frames 9-12 for a 3/10 stake at 3.00 with Bet365
