The latest matches in the Premier League continues on Sunday and after a low scoring and at times boring Saturday in the competition, those watching on of a neutral persuasion will be hoping for much better from the two games on show.
The race for the top four is the main talking point of note on Sunday afternoon with three clubs eyeing up European football on show as well as one who at the time of writing are ineligible for that next term.
Chelsea vs Everton (14.00)
The first match of the two on the day sees two famous teams in blue going up against each other when Chelsea take on Everton for what would be three valuable points for whoever gets them in that chase for European football.
There is absolutely no consistency at all from this Chelsea side but they should be full of confidence after dumping Liverpool out of the cup in midweek and now they go up against an Everton team who have been in decent form for a while now but they lack that standout result against the very big clubs in the division. They have little consistency at the back which has been their undoing in those matches. I’m expecting to see goals in this match with both teams having vulnerabilities at the back. Over 2.5 is 1.75 which is decent enough to me.
Manchester United vs Manchester City (16.30)
It is about more than just points for Europe in the second match of the afternoon where the two sides of Manchester collide at Old Trafford and Manchester United host Manchester City in what is likely to be a passionate occasion.
It has taken a while this season but United are finally showing a bit of form and consistency but it has to be a concern that they were in action as recently as Thursday night in the FA Cup. Man City are not the consistent machine we have seen them as in recent seasons and the absence of Aymeric Laporte is more than just a slight concern for those who fancy their chances in this match it has to be said. There is some real attacking talent on the pitch for both sides here and while both teams to score is only 7/10, I feel it should be a lot shorter than that given the Laporte injury and doubt over Harry Maguire. That’s my bet for this contest.
