The Premier League season continues on Thursday evening when three more matches take place which will determine how events could play out at the bottom of the league as well as clear the picture in the race for the European spots.
As has been the case since the league restarted, all the matches are live on TV in the UK and with two of them free to air for everyone, there really is no reason to miss out on much of the action over the course of the evening.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur (18.00 – Sky Main Event, Sky Premier League, Sky One & Pick)
The first of the two free offerings comes from the Vitality Stadium where the points are going to be pretty big for both sides as Bournemouth take on Tottenham Hotspur in a game neither can really afford to lose.
Bournemouth are deep in relegation mire and in truth they’ve looked awful since the restart so they will really need to up their game if they are to survive. Tottenham are looking for the points to keep their hopes of European football next season alive. This is a match Spurs should be winning but there is nothing that is convincing about them at the minute and eyes might drift towards the London derby at the weekend. With that in mind I’m happy to leave them at a short price.

Everton vs Southampton (18.00 – Amazon Prime Video)
The second match that is free to air for everyone comes from Goodison Park where Everton will look to respond to their tame defeat to Tottenham on Monday night when they go up against a Southampton outfit who will be buoyed by their fine win over Manchester City last time out.
Everton were shockingly bad on Monday evening. Whether that was because they are not playing for anything anymore or not we might only find out here really but it does raise the concern that their post-lockdown form has been overrated. The draw against Liverpool was good but even then the Reds were terrible and wins over Norwich and the Leicester team they beat haven’t exactly been franked.
There has been no such concern with the form of Southampton, particularly away from home. On their travels they have won at Norwich and at Watford and although neither of those opponents are much cop, they beat them well to continue their impressive away form which has been strong all season. When you add their confidence away from home with their morale after a win over Man City, I think there is enough to think that Saints can avoid defeat here and so the 4/5 on them with the 0.5 goal head start appeals.
Aston Villa vs Man Utd (20.15 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The final match of the night is probably the biggest game of the evening as relegation threatened Aston Villa host a resurgent Manchester United side who have their eyes firmly on securing a spot in the Champions League next season.
Whisper it quietly but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is beginning to put a really effective side together at Old Trafford and with their exciting front three backed up by two classy midfielders a big end to the campaign looks to be a racing certainty. Things are not as rosy for Villa. They are deep in trouble and in truth they don’t look good enough to escape the danger. They put up a much more competent performance against Liverpool on Sunday but still offered little threat in attack.
It is that lack of a potent goal threat that worries me where Villa are concerned here. The form of the bottom five since the restart when they’ve not faced Norwich or each other has been terrible and I just don’t see that changing here. United look bang on their game at the minute and I don’t see Villa keeping them at bay here. Once the visitors get in front they could run away with things here quite quickly.
