Preview
In terms of the truly big match of the night where both teams are battling for the points the attention is on the London derby at the London Stadium where West Ham United take on Chelsea in a clash where the points are huge for both sides. West Ham need them in their bid to escape the drop while Chelsea need them to remain in control of their own destiny in the battle for the top four. The other match to influence the top four comes from Goodison Park where Everton will look to pile more woe on a Leicester City side who just haven’t come back from the restart yet and who could be affected by their home area being back in lockdown.
The other two matches have implications on the relegation battle as Norwich City travel to Arsenal needing a win just to give themselves even a sniff of a fighting chance of escaping the drop. The other match sees Bournemouth hosting Newcastle United in a match the home side will be under pressure to win after coming back from the restart without so much as a goal let alone a victory to their name.
Betting
I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the night. The first one comes from the Emirates Stadium where the 4/5 on both teams to score when Arsenal take on Norwich City looks good to me. Norwich have offered little in the Premier League since the return but they looked much more at it in the FA Cup game against Manchester United on Saturday and whichever way I look at it I just can’t see a clean sheet in this Arsenal side. The same can be said of Norwich who are going to be under heavy pressure for large periods in this match. Norwich like a bit of space to attack in and they’ll get all they need here while Arsenal should be at home in their attacking shape. I expect both sides to find the net here.
Later in the night I like the idea of Chelsea coming past West Ham United. I say that because West Ham look a bit of a mess up top without Sebastian Haller, or someone else who can be a focal point of their attack, and the Frenchman doesn’t look like he will be available for this match. Chelsea are flying on their return from lockdown. They have league wins at Villa and at home to Man City and they’ve progressed in the FA Cup, and Frank Lampard has utilised his squad well in those matches so tiredness shouldn’t be an issue. I would imagine the Blues will be fired up to avoid having the double done over them and the way these two have returned from lockdown I see only an away win here.
