Big Matches

The televised offering on Saturday afternoon comes from Ewood Park where Blackburn Rovers will look to end a three match winless streak when they go up against a resurgent Huddersfield Town side under Danny Cowley. After that concludes the leaders West Brom will look to maintain their position at the top when they make the trip to take on a Middlesbrough side who are under pressure after a slow start to the season.

Best of the Rest

Swansea City have made a positive start to the campaign and they will be hoping that continues when they travel to take on managerless Barnsley while Leeds United will look to get their promotion push back on track when they play host to Birmingham City and Preston in third will be looking for three points when they go up against Reading. At the other end of the table Stoke City will look to come off the bottom when they play host to Fulham while Luton have the chance to move further clear of the drop zone when they host Bristol City.

Betting

I’m never one for going too mad with bets straight after the international break and I’m not changing that philosophy here. It is a huge week of Championship action with a midweek round and then another next weekend so there is no need to push the boat out or anything like that. My attention centres on the Riverside where I like the visitors.

Middlesbrough are coughing up a heck of a lot of chances at present and the last thing you want to be doing against West Brom is that because they have players who can hurt you. The other issue for Jonathan Woodgate’s men is a lack of goals and with confidence low and a crowd who can turn pretty easily it could be a long afternoon for the home side. I’m happy to be on Slaven Bilic’s men at odds against here.
