After an entertaining start to the Championship weekend on Friday night, the second tier fixtures continue on Saturday with nine matches which could see a condensed table changing shape regularly once again.
As ever at the minute we have a televised match among the nine on show and then there are plenty of ways of keeping up to date with the other ones, be it on social media or radio commentaries and things like that.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated)
QPR v West Brom (12.30)
Blackburn v Luton
Charlton v Leeds
Derby v Birmingham
Huddersfield v Millwall
Hull v Cardiff
Middlesbrough v Sheff Wed
Preston v Bristol City
Swansea v Reading
Big Matches
The action kicks off with the TV game on Saturday afternoon, which comes from London as Queens Park Rangers host West Bromwich Albion in a battle of two sides chasing a spot in the top six this term. Elsewhere Leeds United will be looking to remain top of the pile when they also travel to the capital to take on a Charlton Athletic side who are just beginning to fade away after a positive start to the season. Swansea City went into the weekend in second place in the table and they play host to Reading.
Best of the Rest
At the other end of the table Huddersfield Town will be looking for their first victory of the campaign when Millwall are the visitors to the John Smith’s Stadium while there is a big battle in the midlands as Derby County will look to put events off the pitch behind them when they go up against Birmingham City. Two of the better sides in the league sees Preston North End to host Bristol City while another side chasing the top six, Blackburn Rovers, host a struggling Luton Town side.
Betting
After a winner on Friday night the only bet I like in Saturday’s matches comes in the first game of the day where I think we’ll see some goals when QPR and West Bromwich Albion do battle. We’ve seen West Brom on Sky twice this season and I’ve seen with my own eyes and while they look like they have sufficient firepower, they are convincing nobody defensively, as evidenced by the fact that they are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league and have just conceded twice to Huddersfield.
I’ve also seen QPR with my own eyes and while Luton were so bad it was untrue for 30 minutes, it was clear to see that Mark Warburton has got the London outfit playing some nice stuff. In the hour Luton did play well in the match they could have had any number of goals and if Luton are creating at will West Brom will have a field day. The over looks a decent way to get the afternoon started.
