The Vitality Blast continues on Friday night when six matches are played across the two groups as the final week of group games begin. It is a huge eight days for a number of sides who are looking to progress into the quarter finals.
It is getting very tight in both groups so we are sure to get some excellent cricket from here on in. One of the six matches is live on TV after the Test match ends and many of the other matches will have a live stream.
North Group
It is this group where the TV game is situated where the derby between the Birmingham Bears and the defending champions Worcestershire gets the TV treatment. The leaders Lancashire aren’t in action so Nottinghamshire have the chance to close the gap on them towards the top of the table when they head to a Leicestershire side who are right in the mix to qualify for the quarter finals. The other matches in this group sees Durham hosting Yorkshire in a match they have to win if they are going to make the last eight while Derbyshire and Northamptonshire both go in search of the points when they meet at Derby.
South Group
It is a big night for three sides in the South Group where the biggest match of the two on show sees Gloucestershire hosting their local rivals Somerset at Bristol. That is a clash between fourth and fifth in the table which the winner will enhance their quarter final hopes. The other match sees Kent Spitfires looking to make the most of a home match against a Surrey side who have disappointed throughout the campaign but who could be dangerous now that they are playing with freedom.

TV Match Betting
I’ll take one in the live game where I’m expecting to see a few more runs than the 320.5 run line for this one. Matches between the Birmingham Bears and Worcestershire are usually relatively high scoring and with the mite in the batting line up of the visitors I fancy we’re looking at a higher scoring game, especially with Birmingham rejigging their order a little they are scoring more runs now. I don’t think it will take much at Edgbaston for this line to be covered so I’m pretty happy to be on the over here.
Other Matches Betting
Durham head into the final week of group matches knowing that they need a big week if they are to make the quarter finals for a second season in a row. That needs to start against a very inconsistent Yorkshire who might well be out of the competition already had it not been for the rain. Durham have played some good cricket so far in this competition and a strong finish will see them through. They have more players in good form than Yorkshire and that’s usually a good guide of who will win the match. I’m with Durham at the prices.
Kent flew out of the traps this season but have hit the buffers a little bit in recent times so the random round of Championship matches might have come at a good time for them despite their amazing loss. If anything that might fire them up more to finish the T20 group strongly. Either way despite that defeat I can’t be having Surrey as favourites for this one even allowing for their freedom to just play now. They’ve flattered to deceive far too much. Kent have had time to regroup. They’ve got Sam Billings back and can win this one.
