2020-21 Premier League – Monday 26th October Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend concludes with the Monday Night Football which this week has two more matches as four sides look to enhance their position in the table as we head towards the next international break.

Tottenham Hotspur are the biggest team in action on Monday evening and the only one with their eyes on doing anything at the top of the table. The other three will be looking for points to ease them away from the bottom of it.

Brighton and Hove Albion vs West Bromwich Albion (17.30 – Sky Sports Box Office)

The opening match of the night sees two teams who were among the favourites to be relegated this season battling it out when Brighton and Hove Albion take on West Bromwich Albion in a match where the three points will be valuable to whoever picks them up.

These two teams are the two immediately above the drop zone and in the 10 matches they have played this term they have one win between them, which was the one Brighton picked up at Newcastle which isn’t an amazing victory by any means. That makes betting on the game a little difficult. My gut feeling is that Brighton are too short at odds on especially without their captain Lewis Dunk but I don’t really want to be with West Brom so this is a pretty easy match to leave alone all things being equal.

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur (20.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The final match of the weekend sees third from bottom Burnley looking to pull themselves away from danger when they host a Tottenham Hotspur side who will move up to fifth in the table if they can come away from Turf Moor with the victory.

Burnley have played a game less than everyone else in the league and two games fewer than plenty so they might be in a false position. You could probably say the same for the position in the table of Tottenham because they have tossed four points away with late equalisers against them in home matches that they have dominated. The one thing Spurs do have is goals in their side. We saw that at Old Trafford recently and indeed they have 15 in their five matches. They have shipped eight in those games too so they are anything but tight at the back. Burnley are conceding an average of two goals per game but are likely to score more moving forward with players coming back.

Neither of these teams are convincing me defensively at the minute and I actually think Spurs lay claims at having the best attacking core in the division at present and as Gareth Bale gets up to speed that is only going to increase. I’m not convinced Spurs are equipped to deal with the direct display they are going to get from Burnley though so I fancy goals to go in at both ends here. I like over 2.75 goals here.
