2020-21 Premier League – Monday 5th April Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Easter schedule for the Premier League concludes on Monday evening when the final two matches of the round takes place on what is a big evening for a couple of the sides who have their hopes on European football next season.

As ever with the Premier League this season both the matches will be screened live on TV through their broadcast deal which means that as the holiday weekend concludes we can sit back and enjoy a few hours of football!

Where to watch

The two matches will be shown live on the Monday Night Football programme which is on the Sky Sports Main Event and the Sky Sports Premier League channels. The programme begins at 5pm with the matches kicking off at 6pm and 8.15pm.

Everton vs Crystal Palace (18.00)

The opening match of the Monday double header comes from Goodison Park where Everton will be seeking a much needed home win when they host a Crystal Palace side who once again are safe but not really going anywhere with eight matches of the campaign remaining.

Everton have one of the worst home records in the division which is weird because so often Goodison Park is a tough place to go. They have lost four of their last five there and the one they won against Southampton wasn’t exactly convincing. They might get what they crave here though because we saw Crystal Palace slump completely at the same stage last term when they were safe and you fear the same could happen this season, especially with all the uncertainty about the future there. Everton have to win this really to keep themselves prominent in the race for Europe and while that might be enough for them to win the days where I trust them at odds on at home went a while ago. I’ll gladly sit this one out.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs West Ham United (20.15)

The final match of the weekend comes from Molineux as a tough to work out Wolverhampton Wanderers side host Champions League chasing West Ham United in what should be a decent enough way to end the current round of games.

West Ham have seen both Tottenham and Liverpool go past them in the table this weekend but a win here will actually move them up to fourth place so they are certainly not lacking an incentive, and in the main they have been decent enough on their travels despite losing their last two games, both of which were in Manchester to the top two so there is no shame there. It is hard to know what to make of Wolves this season. Clearly their campaign has been hampered by Raul Jimenez but the two things that are apparent are they are terrible starters to a match and they don’t appear to be as defensively sound as they were in their first seasons in the Premier League.

I like West Ham here despite them failing to beat a terrible Arsenal side from 3-0 up in their last match prior to the international break. One bitten twice shy and all that though. The Hammers have improved no end in attacking areas since Jesse Lingard arrived and of the two teams you’d fancy them to create more than Wolves. Given the form of these two and what they are both playing for I’m slightly surprised West Ham aren’t a bit shorter on the draw no bet Asian lines. If there is a winner I expect it to be the Hammers.
