Preview

The action gets underway at the Amex Stadium where Manchester United will be hoping to put their horrendous start to the season last week behind them when they take on a Brighton and Hove Albion side who will be buzzing from coming out on top against Newcastle United last weekend. From there the focus switches to the rivals of the Seagulls as Crystal Palace welcome an Everton side who have already laid down their credentials this term and for whom this will be the sort of challenge that tells us how serious their improvement has been or whether they have just had a kind fixture list thus far.

Speaking of sides who have spent a few quid to improve, Chelsea are in action in the third match of the day. They will be hoping to make up for the disappointment of not really landing a blow on Liverpool last weekend when they head to The Hawthorns to take on a West Bromwich Albion side with nothing to lose although a serious need to get their points haul up and running for the season. We end the day at Turf Moor where Burnley take on Southampton in what is sure to be a keenly fought contest.

Betting

There is just the one bet which takes my fancy on what looks like a competitive day in the main on Saturday. That sees West Bromwich Albion taking on Chelsea in a game where they just has to be goals. West Brom haven’t shown they can cut the mustard defensively in this league yet and while I’m concerned about their lack of a striker, what they do have is a magician in Matheus Pereira and a couple of speedsters around him to cause problems.

This match should be all about Chelsea though. They have spent big on attacking talent and they need to shine here and win this match convincing both for their own piece of mind and to avoid losing any more ground on the top teams. They should score freely against a side not really set up to contain the giants of the division, but given that you’d never back Chelsea keeping a clean sheet, over 3 goals has to be the way forward here.
