2020-21 Premier League – Saturday 3rd April Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League comes back from the international break on Saturday with what is becoming a traditional four-match card on a day where much of the interest lies in the top of the table, although early on the fight to avoid the drop is in the spotlight too.

We appear to be getting closer to fans being allowed back in the stadiums but we are not there yet which means that all four of these matches are live on the respective Premier League broadcasters for us to watch and enjoy.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)

Chelsea vs West Bromwich Albion (12.30 – BT Sport 1)

Leeds United vs Sheffield United (15.00 – Amazon Prime Video)

Leicester City vs Manchester City (17.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Arsenal vs Liverpool (20.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Preview

The action begins at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea will look to continue their resurgence under Thomas Tuchel when they host a West Bromwich Albion side who look like they are heading tamely back to the Championship despite the efforts of Sam Allardyce to maintain his record of never being relegated. When they are done a team even more likely to be getting relegated are in action when Sheffield United make the short trip to take on Leeds United at Elland Road in a game the Blades have to win and even then survival might be beyond them.

The big two matches are the last two on Saturday. The first of those sees the runaway champions elect, Manchester City, looking to right one of their wrongs of earlier in the season when they head to the King Power Stadium to face a Leicester City side who beat then 5-2 at the Etihad. The action concludes at the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal play host to Liverpool in a clash with plenty of historical references to it but which still catches the eye in 2021 too.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets which come in the first and the last matches of the day. The first of them is on Chelsea to beat West Bromwich Albion to nil. Tuchel has taken charge of 10 Premier League matches as Chelsea manager and the only opposing team to score against them in that time were Southampton. The only other goal they conceded was when they put through their own goal against Sheffield United. I did consider taking Chelsea to cover some decent handicaps but with the Champions League in midweek I’ll put that on the back burner and take them to win to nil. West Brom have only scored three in their last eight matches and only bottom of the lot Sheffield United have scored fewer than them. We know how Big Sam will approach this one. He’ll set out not to get spanked rather than open up and look to find the net. Given that Chelsea defend set-pieces well I expect them to win without conceding.

The other bet comes in the final match of the day where I’m priced in on a Liverpool side who have been written off plenty in the last three months, but actually away from Anfield the haven’t been too bad. They have won four of their last five on the road in the Premier League and won two Champions League ties away from Anfield too and with Diogo Jota in red hot form I can see that continuing against an Arsenal side who are getting better but still look a level or two below Liverpool at present, especially if the injury picked up by Martin Odegaard on international duty means he isn’t risked for this game. The only reason we’re getting Liverpool on a -0.25AH line is because they’ve been written off but we shouldn’t confuse their home form with their away form. They have to win this to keep their top four hopes alive and given we can get the draw cover I want I can’t ignore them here.

Tips

Back Chelsea to win to nil for a 3/10 stake at 1.83 with BetVictor
