The latest weekend in the Premier League continues on Sunday when four more matches take place which will have big implications on the top end of the table as well as the intriguing battle to avoid the drop on another key day in the division.
Three of the bottom four and four of the big six are in action on Sunday on a day where there is no clash in the fixtures so we can sit back and chill out with a nine hour marathon of football in the top flight!

It is that bottom end of the table which is in the spotlight in the first half of the day when second from bottom West Bromwich Albion go up against a Newcastle United side who are the ones they are chasing in order to beat the drop. Neither team can afford to lose this one so it will be interesting to see if either are brave enough to go after the win. If Newcastle are beaten in that match then Fulham will have the chance to come out of the bottom three. Admittedly they face a daunting task away to Liverpool, although it might not seem as tough as it might have done earlier in the season with the Reds’ campaign seemingly going nowhere now.
Hostilities will be renewed at the Etihad Stadium in what is usually the big third match slot. That is very much the case on Sunday as the Manchester Derby takes place with Manchester City looking to make it 22 straight wins in all competitions when they host Manchester United who will be itching to end that run. The action concludes in the capital where we have a London Derby as Tottenham Hotspur, who sneakily could move into sixth place, host Crystal Palace who aren’t really going anywhere at present.
Betting
The first three matches aren’t the easiest to bet on because form is questionable or there is a derby element to them so my betting intention comes in the final match of the day where I expect Crystal Palace to wilt under the pressure that Tottenham Hotspur will put on them. This might not be the prettiest of watches but then I thought that when Spurs entertained Burnley last week and they blew them away.
This feels like a big match for Spurs. After a period of quietness they have come to life again and although Jose Mourinho has hinted he could make changes for this match, he would only be going back to tried and tested players having made changes for the win over Fulham in midweek. Palace go into this game three unbeaten, which is to their credit as they have been without Wilfried Zaha in that time. There is rumour that he could feature in this game but this is a fixture Palace have a poor record in and with Tottenham out to showcase their worth I think they will want to do a bit of a job on a toothless Palace and get the job done early so they can rest one or two for the Europa League in midweek. I expect a comfortable home win here.
