Big Matches

The TV match on Saturday afternoon comes from Carrow Road as the leaders Norwich City take on a Cardiff City side who have been in decent enough form over the last month or so and who bring a clash of styles to the contest. Once they are done AFC Bournemouth will be looking to reply to the result when they make the trip to Kenilworth Road to take on a Luton Town side who have won their last two on home soil but no longer have fans in the group to get behind them. Watford in third travel to Yorkshire to take on Huddersfield Town.

Best of the Rest

The other three sides in the top six are all in action on Saturday too. Swansea City welcome Barnsley to the Liberty Stadium while Brentford host Reading in what might actually end up being the match of the day. At the other end of the table Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to boost their survival chances when they host Coventry City while Wycombe Wanderers will welcome QPR to Adams Park. Derby County make the trip to Rotherham United in what is a big clash at the bottom of the table. Middlesbrough and Stoke City will be looking to break into the top six. They head to Birmingham and host Blackburn Rovers respectively.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the afternoon and it comes up at the New York Stadium where I think Derby County should be backed to continue their revival under Wayne Rooney. The Rams are now six undefeated going into this match and while they have only won two of those games, importantly they have stopped conceding goals and start this game off the back of four successive clean sheets so this is a side who are clearly responding to their famous coach.

Rotherham aren’t exactly trees at the minute with only one win in their last eight and that came against an injury ravaged side in the form of Bristol City so their form isn’t good and they will have to get over the late heartache of losing deep deep deep into injury time in midweek too. Derby are starting to click into gear and the beauty of them blooding so many youngsters last season is they have a deeper squad to get through this hectic period. That should serve them well here and I fancy they can pick up the win.

Tips

VOID – Back Derby County (0AH) to beat Rotherham United for a 3/10 stake at 1.82 with BetVictor
