The run up to the Christmas period in the Sky Bet Championship continues this midweek when there is yet another round of matches with the first six of the games taking place on a Tuesday night which will have implications at both ends of the table.
Two of the six matches will be shown on the main Sky channels for those of us in the UK while the other four can all be watched behind the red button so if you have a bet on the evening there is no reason why you can’t watch it in action!
Tuesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.45pm unless stated; main TV in brackets)
Queens Park Rangers v Stoke City (5.30pm – Sky Football)
Barnsley v Preston North End
AFC Bournemouth v Wycombe Wanderers
Bristol City v Millwall
Nottingham Forest v Sheffield Wednesday
Watford v Brentford (8pm – Sky Football)

Preview
The two televised matches are the last two in the capital which will have fans attending them this side of Christmas when QPR host Stoke City in the opening match of the evening before two promotion chasers meet in the second game of the night as Watford take on Brentford in a match which could signal which of those two are best placed to challenge the top two over the course of the remainder of the campaign.
AFC Bournemouth are the highest side in action on Tuesday evening. They will go back to the top of the table for 24 hours at least if they can beat struggling Wycombe Wanderers. There is a big match at the bottom end of the table as Nottingham Forest host Sheffield Wednesday while Barnsley welcome Preston North End to Oakwell. The other match sees Bristol City playing host to a Millwall team who will be desperate to end their winless run.
Betting
There isn’t a huge amount that I like on Tuesday evening but with so much football on the horizon in this division we don’t need to plough into bets that aren’t there. That means I’ll go with the one which stands out which is over 3 goals in the match at the Vitality Stadium where AFC Bournemouth host Wycombe Wanderers in a game I expect to see plenty of goal action in and where if we are being honest, if it is a good night for the hosts they could cover this on their own.
In their last three matches Bournemouth have put four past Barnsley and five past Huddersfield on this ground, both infinitely better sides than Wycombe, but prior to that they also stuck four past Reading however Preston have scored three against them in recent times and Rotherham notched twice as well so there is hope for Wycombe in terms of finding the net. Wycombe are an awkward side to defend against but Bournemouth should have way too much going forward. I like over 3 goals here.
