There is another midweek round in the Championship this week with half of the action coming along on Tuesday evening and the other half on Wednesday. The events at the bottom end of the table forms the spotlight on Tuesday.
Of the six matches that are taking place up and down the country two of them are live on the main channels on Sky with the other four behind the red button so there is no need not to keep up to date with any bets that we have.

Preston North End v Watford (19.00)
Stoke City v Sheffield Wednesday (19.00)
Bristol City v Reading (19.45)

The two TV matches on Tuesday night sees the race for the play-offs in focus with Middlesbrough playing host to Huddersfield Town in one of them and a resurgent Cardiff City facing a tricky test away to Luton Town in the other. Wins for either of them will move them to within three points of Bournemouth ahead of their match on Wednesday night so there is a good chance to put some pressure on the Cherries.
Elsewhere there is a crunch match at the bottom of the table as Wycombe Wanderers will look to build on their win at Huddersfield on Saturday when they play host to a Derby County side who are looking over their shoulder. Sheffield Wednesday have the chance to come out of the bottom three when they head to Stoke while the other two matches sees Preston North End hosting high flying Watford and Bristol City welcoming Reading to Ashton Gate.
Betting
I’ll go with one man bet and a more speculative one on Tuesday night with the main bet coming in the form of Reading who I expect to beat a Bristol City side who are in a right old slump. That is nothing new at this time of a season. They always seem to save their worst for this time of year, although in fairness much of their struggles this time round is down to an insanely long injury list. Reading have hit the buffers in the last couple of matches but they tend to be much better on their travels as a whole anyway with just three defeats away from home in the entire campaign and two of those were at Brentford and Reading who may well go on and secure promotion this term. It is hard to like Bristol City here after a 6-0 beating at the weekend and with so many players still missing a classy if inconsistent Reading team can take advantage.
The speculative bet comes in the second TV game where Cardiff City are much improved under Mick McCarthy but they seem to have a problem defending set pieces. Of the five goals they have conceded three of them have been set plays and the other two were both from crosses from open play. Coventry also hit the bar from a dead ball at the weekend as well so that suggests there is a weakness there. That makes me think that the 3/1 for Dan Potts to have a shot on target and the 18/1 on him to score anytime are big prices. Potts hit the post when it looked easier to score against Huddersfield two matches ago, neither of which would win this bet admittedly but it does show the areas he gets into, while he could have had a hat trick on top of the goal he scored at Birmingham on Saturday. Luton put a lot into set plays and in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall they have a brilliant deliverer of them and Potts is a focal point to aim for. As a left-back he gets forward when he can and can be seen in and around the box so the odds on a shot on target are big and a smaller play on one going in is advised.
