The Vitality Blast fired up on Saturday and with the weather set to remain good for Sunday we should be set for another decent day of action in the competition as five more matches take place across the country.
All three groups are in action over the course of Sunday but with the international game getting the TV treatment, we are once again consigned to the live streams provided by the county websites in order to see the developments live.
North Group
There is just the one match in the North Group which will see two sides hoping to get their campaigns up and running after both had to sit and watch the rain fall on Thursday evening. The match comes from Headingley where Yorkshire will hope to have Joe Root on show when they go up against the semi-finalists of last season and the team we think will be dark horses for this campaign in Derbyshire.
Central Group
Northamptonshire produced a wonderful performance to see off former champions Worcestershire on Saturday afternoon and they get the chance to back up that display when they take on another former champion of this event in Somerset at Wantage Road. The other match in this group sees Glamorgan looking for back to back wins in successive days after their fine victory over Gloucestershire on Saturday. They take on the Birmingham Bears at Cardiff with the chance to put themselves in a good position to make it through.
South Group
The South Group kicked into life with an absolutely epic contest between Middlesex and Kent on Saturday, a match that ended in a tie, and it is the turn of the other four teams in the group to look to get their campaigns up and running on Sunday. Surrey host the defending champions Essex in the pick of the two matches on paper while down on the coast two rivals meet when Sussex take on Hampshire with plenty of bragging rights at stake there as well as the two points.

Betting
There are a few bets which catch my eye over the course of the day but in the end I’ve decided to go with two of them. I’ll begin in the Central Group where the Northamptonshire captain Josh Cobb has a remarkably low performance line at 23.5pts. I say that because he is going to bat at three against a Somerset attack which isn’t the best but he is also likely to bowl four overs too. Based on Saturday he is certainly going to open the bowling. As a captain he’ll also field in the right areas for catches as well so there is so much scoring potential for him in this match. Cob scored 30pts on Saturday in a match in which he only faced nine balls to further highlight his scoring possibilities. I like the over on his performance line.
The second bet I like is for Phil Salt to hit a six in his innings against Hampshire. As an opener Salt has faced Hampshire twice. Two seasons ago he made 20 at the Ageas Bowl with a six while last season here at Hove he blasted 73 against them in a knock that contained three sixes. Since then he has gone on to become one of the most feared batsmen in the domestic game with his clean hitting earning him Big Bash League and Caribbean Premier League stints over the last 12 months. Already this season Salt has scored 40 on this ground against Surrey and hit two sixes on that occasion. Hampshire’s bowling attack has been decimated by injuries and players not making it over so I expect the England international to make hay here. These two sides met on this ground in the Bob Willis Trophy to open up the county season and Salt made 68 and 80. He seems to like facing Hampshire and the even money on him hitting a six here just looks too big.
