The Vitality Blast has three matches on Tuesday and as we enter the final quarter of the group stage, the importance of all the games from here on in cannot be underplayed. We are getting to the time where the quarter final spots start getting filled so we’re in for some excellent cricket.
Annoyingly even though there is no international cricket on there is no television coverage of these matches so we are once again forced to go over to the live streams in order to watch the action and keep up to date with everything.
North Group
There is just the one match in the North Group on Tuesday and it is a big game for the home side Leicestershire. Nottinghamshire and Lancashire have shot clear in the North Group so if Leicestershire are going to keep their qualification hopes realistic then their match against Derbyshire at Grace Road is looking like a must win one because it is looking like only two teams are going to make it out of the North Group at this stage. Derbyshire haven’t been at the races in the competition and are playing purely for pride now.

Central Group
The best of the action comes in the Central Group where the top three are in action in the two matches that take place. The leaders Gloucestershire start off the day when they play in the afternoon match. They welcome third placed Birmingham Bears who have won their last three matches and look to be hitting a good groove. The other match comes in the evening when former champions meet at Wantage Road as second placed Northamptonshire host surprisingly bottom of the pile Worcestershire.
Betting
There is only the one bet that I’m interested in on Tuesday and it comes in one of the evening matches where Northamptonshire take on Worcestershire. Northamptonshire have lost their last two matches and while there is no concern the way they lost in Cardiff last time out wasn’t great, we can excuse them the defeat to Gloucestershire because they are a good side and there was so much Covid-19 related issues in the lead up to that game.
Worcestershire haven’t really got going this season and their bowling attack has been carted in near enough every match they have played which has been a real surprise. That makes me think that even though Northamptonshire have underperformed with the bat in their last couple of matches that they won’t here. The Steelbacks bowlers haven’t gone that badly so if their batsmen take advantage of the likely buffet that may well come their way then I expect Northamptonshire to get back to winning ways here.
