The Vitality Blast continues on Tuesday evening when four matches surprisingly go up against the England match at Euro 2020 as we head towards the halfway point of the group stage of the English domestic competition.
Although there were four matches to choose from, with the World Test Championship final dominating the TV coverage none of these will be shown on TV so we are left to watch the county streams in order to follow the action.
North Group
The leaders Yorkshire are not in action in the competition on Tuesday evening so the defending champions Nottinghamshire have the chance to hit the front when they host the 2018 winners Worcestershire at Trent Bridge. The other match in the group on Tuesday comes from Derby where Derbyshire host Leicestershire in a match both really need to win if they are going to become relevant in the race for the quarter finals.

South Group
Kent have opened up a two point advantage at the top of the South Group table and they will look to maintain that lead, if not extend it, when they make the trip to Bristol to take on fourth placed Gloucestershire who themselves have hit a bit of form. Sussex remain unbeaten this season and are the only side to do so after Surrey went down on Tuesday evening. They will hope to keep that unbeaten record intact when they welcome Glamorgan to Hove.
Betting
The rain looks to have left the UK by the time these matches begin so I’m going to play the one bet which comes in that match in the North Group between Derbyshire and Leicestershire. These two are both low down in the table this season and the reason for that is the extraordinary amount of runs that they have both been conceding. The only time that hasn’t been the case is when they have played Northamptonshire but their mojo went west a while back.
The bet I like in this match isn’t on the match winner given how many runs they concede but rather on over 321.5 runs which isn’t actually that much of an ask when you consider just how many runs these two teams have shipped this term. It isn’t just how many they have conceded that I like about this bet, it is also how many they have scored. Both teams have been involved in some high scoring matches this season, one of which was when they met in the reverse meeting at Grace Road. That had 395 runs in it and while this one might not have that many, I think it will have more than 321.5.
