2017 NFL – Week 8 Sunday Early Games Betting Preview

Once the action has concluded in the London game there are more NFL matches to get stuck into across the pond with the two games live on Sky as well as a host of other clashes which look juicy enough for those with the NFL Game Pass (if it works this week!).

The matches begin an hour earlier in the UK with the clocks having gone back this week with nine matches over the two kick off times to go at in all.

1pm kick offs (5pm UK time)

There is a divisional battle at the Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Carolina Panthers while the live game on Sky sees the Buffalo Bills playing host to the Oakland Raiders. New England Patriots welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to Foxboro while the Indianapolis Colts head to Ohio to take on Cincinnati Bengals. The New York Jets will host Atlanta Falcons with the Chicago Bears going to the New Orleans Saints. Philadelphia Eagles look to continue their good season when they take on the San Francisco 49ers.

5pm kick offs (8pm UK time)

There are just the two matches in the later start time on Sunday. The live game for those of us in the UK is the NFC East contest between the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys while the other match sees the Seattle Seahawks and their Legion of Boom defence looking to tame the star rookie DeShaun Watson and his Houston Texans side.

Betting

There aren’t many bets that I like on this card in truth. In the early matches I think the points line is low in New Orleans where the New Orleans Saints take on the Chicago Bears. The Saints offense is always powerful inside the dome but there is no doubt that Mitch Trubisky has had the right effect on the Chicago offense. I expect both sides to move the ball and put up points in this one so the 46.5pt line should be covered.

In the later games I think the receiving yards line for Jason Witten is quite low at 42.5. I’ve mentioned in the past how weak the Redskins are against tight ends and in terms of catches this season Witten is Dak Prescott’s favourite target. He has 31 catches over the course of the seven matches including 12 in the last two. Given Washington’s weakness covering the tight end position I fancy Witten will cover his yardage line.

Tips

Back Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints – Over 46.5pts for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with William Hill

Back J.Witten – Over 42.5 receiving yards for a 4/10 stake at 1.83 with Paddy Power
