2017-18 Premier League – Saturday 30th December Matches Betting Preview

The final set of fixtures in the Premier League as far as 2017 is concerned begins on Saturday with seven matches in the division up and down the country as long as the weather doesn’t take a serious turn for the worst.

The leaders are not in action until Sunday so the chasing pack have the chance to make a slight inroad into the huge lead that Manchester City have but with the title all but won it is affairs at the bottom of the table and in the top four that take precedence. Usually we would have three kick off times but there are only two on this particular Saturday.

3pm Matches

The majority of the matches take place in the usual 3pm kick off time. Bournemouth host Everton at the Vitality Stadium while two promoted sides do battle when Newcastle host Brighton at St James’ Park. Huddersfield meet Burnley while Chelsea host Stoke at Stamford Bridge. Watford host a Swansea side who desperately need the points at Vicarage Road with the other match seeing Liverpool taking on Leicester at Anfield.

Late Game

The action concludes at Old Trafford where all eyes will be on Manchester United to see if they can pick up another three points in their quest to secure Champions League football next season. They play host to a Southampton side who will be looking to move on now that the departure of Virgil van Dijk has been confirmed.

Betting

I like just the one bet in this set of matches and it comes from Bournemouth where actually I fancy some goals when the Cherries take on Everton. I think this is the sort of match that the home side will fancy their chances of winning, and they need to win it too with the situation that they are in.

I think we are going to see Everton open up a little more in the second half of the season as Sam Allardyce looks to make them into a side who can win things. I don’t ever expect them to be gung ho but I fancy we will see them squeeze in higher areas which will help their goal flow. With both fancying their chances of winning here I like over 2.5 goals.

Tips
