2017-18 Sky Bet League 2 – Tuesday 13th March Matches Betting Preview

There are three matches in an important night in Sky Bet League 2 on Tuesday with affairs at both ends of the table and the play-off positions in the spotlight on what should be a cracking evening of football in the basement division.

Coventry vs Luton

The biggest match of the night comes from the Ricoh Arena where play-off chasing Coventry City host a Luton Town side who go into a football match not on top of the table for the first time in months.

Luton lost top spot when they were beaten by Accrington Stanley on Saturday despite being the better side but they will regain their position on top of the pile should they avoid defeat in this match while Coventry have won their last two to pull themselves to the fringes of the play-offs and they’ll move into the top seven if they avoid defeat.

I fancy Luton to win this match. I saw Coventry at Brighton recently and they were all at sea defensively and you have to defend well against Luton else you’ve no chance. With the heavy weather of recent times the prices might just be about right though.

Exeter vs Yeovil

High flying Exeter will look to close the gap between themselves and third placed Notts County when they entertain a Yeovil side who aren’t in immediate danger but at some point could do with a couple of wins to absolutely guarantee their survival.

Exeter go into the match unbeaten in three which is good for them after they had a bit of a wobble just after the transfer window closed while Yeovil have followed up their exit from the Checkatrade Trophy with a disappointing loss to Newport last time out and have now lost their last three in the league.

The Glovers have been woeful on the road all season and I’m not convinced much is going to change here against an Exeter side who look to have found their rhythm once again. I fancy Exeter will have too much for a Yeovil side whose season is in a bit of limbo.

Barnet vs Port Vale

The other big match of the night comes from the foot of the table when bottom of the pile Barnet host the side one spot above the drop zone in Port Vale in a match both will be eager to win to assist their challenge of staying in the league.

Barnet go into the match seven points behind their opponents so if they can win here they will really boost their chances of staying up but a defeat could all but finish them off. I’m on Barnet to go down so I hope Port Vale win but neither are showing enough to merit a bet either way.
