The regular season in the MLS continues towards its conclusion with another set of fixtures getting under way on Saturday night. As the games begin to run out in the race for the play-offs there is a big feel about the evening.
We have a couple of matches on TV on Saturday evening including the big one from the Eastern Conference and as ever there are plenty of other ways of keeping up to date with everything else.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off in brackets)
Chicago Fire vs Los Angeles FC (20.30)
Seattle Sounders vs Colorado Rapids (21.00)
DC United vs Montreal Impact (00.00)
Columbus Crew vs Philadelphia Union (00.30)
Toronto FC vs New England Revolution (00.30)
Minnesota United vs New York City (01.00)
Houston Dynamo vs San Jose Earthquakes (01.30)
Los Angeles Galaxy vs Vancouver Whitecaps (03.00)
Portland Timbers vs FC Dallas (03.30)
Big Matches
The two TV matches have the play-off race in focus. They begin in Seattle where the Seattle Sounders will look to hold off the chasing pack when they play host to the Colorado Rapids and then comes the huge match in the Eastern Conference where DC United host Montreal Impact in a battle of the two sides fighting it out for the last postseason spot.
Best of the Rest
FC Dallas can open up a five point lead at the summit in the Western Conference when they head to the Portland Timbers while New England Revolution will be drinking alongside Toronto FC in the last chance saloon when they meet at BMO Field. Los Angeles FC will look to pile the pressure on in the race for a first round play-off bye when they go to the Chicago Fire. Los Angeles Galaxy and Vancouver Whitecaps meet to battle it out to keep their postseason hopes alive in the early hours.

Betting
It might just be that the better bets this weekend come in the Sunday matches but I can’t ignore one bet on Saturday evening which comes in the match between the US Open Cup winners Houston Dynamo and the San Jose Earthquakes.
Both sides should be at full strength for this contest and with no competitive pressures on the game we should see some open and attacking football between two sides who are a whole lot better when they are on the attack than they are in the defensive areas. San Jose matches have been high scoring for a while and with the confidence of the cup win in midweek Houston should be buzzing so I think the over 3.25 goals can land in this one.
