2018-19 Premier League – Saturday 19th January Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League has one more round of matches prior to the break for the next round of the FA Cup and it begins with eight fixtures on a pretty busy Saturday, a day where the leaders are in action as well as two big guns who collide at the Emirates Stadium.

As ever whenever there is anything approaching a busy Saturday, we have three kick off times over the course of the day with plenty to enjoy from the start right through to the end of the action up and down the country.

Early Kick Off

Things kick off at Molineux where Wolverhampton Wanderers will look to put Monday night’s nightmare behind them when they go up against Leicester City, who are under a little bit of pressure themselves heading into the contest, or at least their manager Claude Puel is. Wolves have taken points off the bigger sides regularly this term and will be looking to do likewise here too so this should be a good way for the day to begin.

3pm Matches

We have no fewer than six matches in the usual kick off slot on Saturday afternoon. Bournemouth take on West Ham in one of them but the key match of these fixtures comes from Anfield, where Liverpool will look to restore their seven point advantage at the top of the table. They take on a Crystal Palace team who have already been to Manchester City and won this term.

Manchester United will look to continue their winning run under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when they play host to Brighton and Hove Albion while there is a huge clash at the bottom of the table as Newcastle United play host to Cardiff City. Southampton take on Everton at St Mary’s Stadium and Watford take on Burnley at Vicarage Road in the other matches.

Late Game

The action concludes at the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal and Chelsea collide in a match which probably won’t affect the title race any more but it will certainly have a big say on who could finish in the top four. With that in mind Arsenal could do with making sure that they come out on top in the contest. Chelsea have the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final in midweek but can’t afford to overlook the Gunners in this one.

Betting

I looked at taking Southampton on after they went to extra time and penalties in midweek but I’m in no rush to back Everton at the minute so in the end I’m left with one bet which comes in the match between Bournemouth and West Ham United down at the Vitality Stadium, where unsurprisingly I’m expecting to see goals.

Bournemouth matches tend to be high scoring, especially in recent times when they have lost the art of how to defend and West Ham are no slouches in front of goal either. I’m expecting to see plenty of goalmouth action in this match and there is more than enough attacking class on show here to take us beyond 2.75 goals.
