The Premier League weekend kicks off with a couple of matches on Friday night this week with two sides deep in the relegation mix among the four teams in action and both of them will be eager to pick up points here.
One of the two matches are live on the TV for those of us who are in the UK with the other match probably offering up plenty of options for anyone who wants to watch it so there are plenty of ways to keep on top of the action. We’ll begin the preview with the TV match.
West Ham United vs Fulham
The live game in the UK is the big London derby between West Ham United and Fulham, in which the latter cannot afford another defeat while the home side could be looking forward to welcoming one of their star players back.
The Hammers have been without Manuel Lanzini for the entirety of the campaign thus far but he looks set to return in this match and that will undoubtedly be a boost to their chances. They may not need such a spurt to their hopes though because Fulham have been atrocious on the road all season and are still looking for their first win away from Craven Cottage. In truth, Claudio Ranieri has not had the desired effect since coming in and having had high hopes for them at the beginning of the season I think Fulham are doomed.
I wouldn’t normally be interested in West Ham at odds on but I do think the return of Lanzini will inspire them. The likes of Marko Arnautovic, Samir Nasri, Felipe Anderson and Andy Carroll are all fit too so I like the idea of West Ham to feast on this woeful Fulham defence enough to win the game. I’m not convinced West Ham will keep a clean sheet either though so in addition I think a bet on West Ham to win and both teams to score could pay dividends.

Cardiff City vs Watford
The other match on the evening looks a more low key affair although Cardiff City will know they have a massive chance of three points in front of their own fans. It won’t be easy though because Watford have started getting results and have suddenly stopped conceding.
I’ve had a good look at this match and if I was betting on it I would probably chance Cardiff in some way, shape or form, but there is something about this one that tells me it is a little bit trappy. Watford’s only road defeat in their last six came at Wembley Stadium so there is nothing that truly stands out to lure me in here.
