With teams slowly catching up with games in hand in Sky Bet League 1, there is one more match in the division on Tuesday night, which sees Shrewsbury Town and Doncaster Rovers battling it out for three valuable points at the New Meadow.
The home side will be eager for a result to pull away from the danger of the drop, and have the chance to steal a bit of ground on the pack here while Doncaster will be looking to cement their spot in the top six.
Shrewsbury Town
It took a long while to come but Shrewsbury Town finally won for the first time in 2019 in the league on Saturday, when they came from behind to take care of Peterborough United at London Road. Admittedly they played against 10 men for more than an hour, but when you are without a league victory in nine attempts you will take anything to end such a barren run.
Since the Shrews were outclassed by Luton at the beginning of the month, they have fared much better and go into this outing unbeaten in three matches. They are beginning to look a little livelier in front of goal and tougher to break down which bodes well for them. In all Shrewsbury have won more than they have lost at home, which should give them a bit of confidence here.
Doncaster Rovers
Doncaster head into the match in good nick. They have only lost two of their last 15 matches, and in one of those they were 2-0 up fairly late in the game before a bizarre series of events took place to deny them. Much of their better form is at home it has to be said, but they have been to both Portsmouth and Barnsley and avoided defeat in this recent run of theirs and powered to victories at Doncaster and Bristol Rovers.
Often the issues for Donny on the road is their will to play nice football. They don’t lack for quality up front or at the back but they are better on surfaces of sufficient quality so that could be something for them to think about here. In John Marquis and Mallik Wilks they have goals in their side, and that is something that can never be underrated.
Team News
Shrewsbury Town will be without key midfielder Ollie Norburn for this match as he serves the suspension that comes from his sending off against Peterborough United at the weekend. They will hope Tyrese Campbell continues his good form.
Grant McCann has hinted he will be without one of his key Doncaster Rovers men, but he has not eluded to who it is. James Coppinger and Mallik Wilks both got withdrawn early against Scunthorpe on Saturday and the feeling is that it is one of them.

Betting
Doncaster Rovers might not be the best side in the division away from home but I think they have the minerals needed to win this match. They do tend to fare well on the road to the lesser sides in the league. They have won away to Plymouth Argyle, Rochdale, Walsall, Gillingham and Bristol Rovers this season and I fancy them to follow that up here.
Shrewsbury Town had a good win at Peterborough on Saturday but most teams are leaving there with something these days so they could be the classic ‘one swallow doesn’t make a summer’ team if ever there was one in this division. If you take Tyrese Campbell out of this Shrews side, they look very limited and the powerful Doncaster attack can take advantage of that.
